I was on youtube today and for some reason decided to watch Roy Jones Jr "Beyond the glory" probably for about the 3rd time and it hit me..... They could make a great movie about Roy Jones Jr's life......Picture this...

He was raised on a farm in Pensacola, Florida. As a very young boy he began being trained by his Father who once was a rugged pro fighter himself. As he gets older it begins to get serious and his Father puts him through an insane training regement. It pays off because Roy Jones becomes a phenominal amateur boxer with a unique style and swagger to him in the ring which can be attributed to his Father unique training methods and a little help from watching **** fights on his farm.. He makes the Olympic team and goes to Seoul Korea and dominates puts on an incredible performances in the finals with his Father there cheering, against a Korean fighter only to be screwed by Judges who were bribed. He doesn't get the Gold Medal but is awarded "Best fighter of the torunament award". The Korean fighter he beats even recongnizes that he lost. He gains a large amount of recognition across America because of how bad the decision is and is given a hero's welcome when he arrives home.... Being robbed of the Gold Medal hurts Roy real bad, he first decides hes going to quit boxing....Even his Father shows sympthay towards him. Roy thinks better of it and turns pro with his Father as his trainer and manager and easily wins a couple fights on network T.V. Then apparently because of bad management begins fighting mostly in Penscloa in front of small crowd. Roy continues destroying his opposition but his Father continues to choose to move his son slowly apparently even turning down a title shot. Finally an incident occurs involving Roy's Dad killing a Dog that bit some girl, Roy snaps and removes his Dad as his trainer and manager and begins being trained by Alton Merkerson a vietnam viet. Him and Roy develop a great relationship and Roy goes straight to the top. Wins the middleweight title from Bernard Hopkins, defends it a few times then wins the super middleweight title. Roy with his electric performances begins to build momentum but their is another young badass heavyweight on the rise maybe putting on even more impressive performances James Toney.. The fight goes down on HBO with plenty of hype and split opinions. Its pretty safe to say James Toney was the favorite he seemed like he wouldn't be denied but Roy Jones dominates him pulling off a crazy knock down with one of his **** fighting moves. He dominates the super middleweight division for years goes up wins the light heavyweight title. Roy Jones seems to be unbeatable his first challenger as a light heavyweight is the little known but well respected and undefeated Montell Griffin. Griffin gives him a trouble its a close fight but Roy turns it around in the late rounds and drops Griffin but hits him when hes down and Griffin stays down for the 10 count (its seems like he may have faked it). Roy is disqualfied and officially loses for the first time. Roy in clearly upset but comes back with fire and knocks Griffin out in the rematch in the very first round...Roy Jones then goes on an incredible role becomes the clear lbs for lbs best in the sport, goes up to heavyweight and wins the heavyweight title becoming the only middleweight to do that in modern history. He seems unstoppable. But then a rival from childhood with a big mouth begins constantly calling Roy out and becomes the number 1 contender for Roy's light heavyweight belt..Antonio Tarver.... Roy decides to go back down and face him. Getting down to light heavyweight is hard and Roy is getting a little older but he does it and beats his rival in a very close fight.... Tarver feels he got robbed the rematch is set... Roy plans to take care of this once and for all and maybe he'll call it a career... He'll go down as one of the greatest....They meet in the centre of the ring with the ref and Tarver hits him with "you got any excuses now Roy?" .. Roy comes out everything seems normal then out of no where in the second round Tarver with one huge right hand knocks Roy out......Everyone is shocked..... Roy decides to comeback right away against a rugged journeymen Glenn Johnson..Roy gets destroyed knocked clear out again...... Roy retires begins working more on his commentating with HBO and rap career but then he decides to comeback. Him and Father who reconciled their differences decide to give it one more go together and he goes straight for Tarver. Tarver dominates him, Roy doesn't look anything like the invincible champion he was in the 1990's and 2000's. Everyone thinks its the end for Roy but he comes back again wins a few fights including a big fight on HBO with Felix Trinidad and is set to take on the undefeated long reigning super middleweight/light heavyweight champion Joe Calzaghe who had been talked about facing Roy ever since the 90's. Roy swears he is going to make this epic comeback for America and once again rise to the top of the sport. But again he is destroyed... He comes out drops Calzaghe in the first round seems to have him out on his feet but doesn't capitalize, Calzaghe comes back and pounds and taunts a bloody Jones for 12 rounds. Now the movie starts to get a little depressing. Everyone now cries for Roy to retire, no one gives him a chance. He gets a few solid wins on lesser venues but its clear to the public hes no longer the great fighter he once was. Hes goes for a shot at the cruiserweight title and gets knocked out. He loses against his literally old rival Bernard Hopkins in a terrible fight. Then gets crushed by a Russian cruiserweight...He is no longer a star in the sport but still he stays strong continues his commentating career on HBO and fights on he wins a few fights on much smaller venues and the story continues...... You add in his rap career, basket ball and the fact that Roy Jones is completely insane, out spoken with a very strange personality and I think you have the making for "The Fighter" 2,3....:bbb:good:deal:thumbsup:hat

Start putting it down on paper!

The insane training by his equally insane father when he was young would make for some good scenes
