"I'M NOT CHASING ROY JONES" (direct quote) joe calzaghe.

i am unsure as to why you choose to big up a guy who disproves the same argument you use to big him up, but some dogs are happy to chase their tales, i guess.

If you can't remember Eubank afraid of not hearing the bell in that first rd while Joe stood in front of him grinning at his face and daring him to throw a punch, then boxing ain't for you.

The Eubank that Joe beat that night would still deposit the best Froch on the canvas once or twice.

Joe finished Lacy's career in one night, also.

not even remotely true, eubank was not only at the end of his career, he was in another division, weight drained at late notice, had a strings of defeats either side of joe, and had no incentive to recapture a title he was done with. He was merely standing in.

Meanwhile you are talking about the froch that Joe actually avoided by the act of dumping his new titles without making a single defence of them, and faced a string of elites to weigh againsts joes one single injured elite.

Calzaghe would have beaten Froch with ease Prime for prime. The Prime Jeff Lacy that Calzaghe fought would have given Froch one hell of a fight. Calzaghe would have had too much speed for Froch. I rate Carl highly and he had a great chin and workrate, but against a slick boxer he found it difficult.

Eubank was just 32, in shape from a previous fight 6 months earlier, and preparing for a fight in the above division but decided on 2 weeks notice to lose an additional 7 pounds and replace for Collins in his old super middle division.

He certainly looked to come to fight and not lay down, but was outclassed from the first minute.

If Froch was in that ring he would have given him hell.

Jones haters are an interesting lot. Haters of any ATG are an interesting lot, actually. It's one thing to say someone is overhyped and another to accuse someone with those credentials of being a fraud, using cherry-picked evidence and focusing on what happened later in that fighter's career.

    It's so tiresome.

How is his resume a laughing stock exactly?

    What absolute nonsense.

    Who did he duck?

Jones is overhyped in my opinion, but I'm not going to say he wasn't a brilliant fighter, but his resume could have used more depth, he had GOAT level talent, too many pointless nights in his career when there were really really good fighters around.

This thread has nothing to do with joe but you had to bring it up, joe outclassed roy that night and they're only 2 or 3 years apart in age
