You don't know what was happening behind the scenes.

I'll show you excerpts from Thomas' book that prove you're wrong.

Roy tried to fight Evander after the Ruiz fight, as he was open to remaining at HW for the right fight.

All you're doing is making assumptions based on the fact that he never had another fight at the weight.

Funny, but I've never claimed to have psychic powers. I have merely quoted what Roy has said in various interviews.

It's Bailey who has taken this and ran with it.

Where is he by the way?

I haven't seen him for ages.

I'm still waiting for proof of where I supposedly said that Roy had to fight Ruiz, and that Roy lost 25 pounds of muscle to fight Tarver.

    So good luck with that.

Anyone who thinks Ruiz was a more difficult fight than a Hopkins rematch would be should be shot on sight. Ruiz was arguably the worst HW titlist of all time while Hopins was an ATG in his prime and the pfp #1 after he beat Tito. Hell Tarver was a much more dificult fight for Jones than Ruiz and after Tarver got done with Jones Hopkins took him to schooll.

Hopkins>>>>>> Ruiz and its not even close.

Knuckleheads think that being bigger is better , what Jones did against Ruiz was nothing special and Toney proved it by doing the same thing,an Hopkins rematch would be a much more dificult fight than Ruiz only huggers and know nothing maggots think otherwise.

Hold on, who's said that Ruiz was a more difficult fight?

I haven't read that, unless I've obviously missed it.

A Hopkins rematch at a catchweight in 2002 would have been a great fight. But Hopkins didn't want it.

Although Hopkins was a superior fighter to Ruiz, Roy's win over Ruiz was still a great win. Whichever way you look at it, he defeated a 230 pound guy with absolute ease, who'd defeated some decent opponents.

Jones win over Ruiz is one of the most overrated wins of all time.

Ruiz isnt even a top 100 HW of All time.

And he wasnt even the real Champion Lennox was.

When real ATG's like Fitz,Charles,Conn,Moore,Spinks moved up to HW they fought the real champion not some chump like Ruiz.

How many of those moved up and beat a Super Heavyweight H2H beast like Lennox? Maybe one of the best H2H heavyweights of all time.

The size disadvantage would be ridiculous. Did you know Corbett was 186? He probably could have weighed in as a LHW today.

I can't believe Jones haters criticize him for not fighting Lennox.. That is like demanding Mayweather to fight GGG or Ward.

The Ruiz victory is apparently being underplayed on forums these days.

Ruiz may not have been "the man" at HW, but he was certainly top 5.
Imagine Kovalev or Stevenson going up and taking on any of the top 5 fighters at HW.

It wouldnt be too dissimiliar to Kovalev going up and schooling Povetkin for 12 rounds.

    Exactly.

Roy looked tiny in the ring compared to Ruiz, and at one point was standing in the center of the ring with his hands down like the bigger man.

Why can't you answer simple questions?

You're in the middle of a debate, yet when you are asked questions, you either reply back with insults, or simply ignore the questions altogether, before going on to repeat what you've already said.

Do you want a debate or not?

With regards to what you've wrote above, it was still impressive how Roy easily dominated him.

Don't you give Toney credit for his win over Jirov?

I dont see you huggers giving Toney the same credit for doing the same thing as Jones. Why is it a great accomplishment for Jones but not for Toney?

You Roy huggers focus too much on the size difference to make it look like it was something more than it was, the reality was that the gulf in class was much bigger than the gulf in size.

Ruiz was awfull plain and simple . As for the size difference there have been bigger size differences in HW title fights like Dempsey against Willard and Baer-Carnera to name two.

Jones win over Ruiz is one of the most overrated wins of all time end of discussion, deal with it Roy groupies.

How would Kovalev do against a top 5 HW in his next fight?

That's what you're comparing it to

Toney hasn't got credit, because this is a Roy Jones thread.

Ruiz wasn't as awful as what you're making out, otherwise he'd have done nothing whatsoever in his career. A truly awful HW could never have had three close fights with Evander, even though Evander was past his best. So you're exaggerating. Evander was robbed against Valuev 7-8 years after he'd fought Ruiz. So he still had a bit left in the tank. Ruiz wasn't awful, he was just awful to watch.

Now are you going to actually answer the points that have been put to you?

Why don't you tell us how Roy avoided a Hopkins rematch?
