news in thaT roy jones jr got a match set for march 11th with an unnamed opponent

watching ringside, a british boxing show, with ricky hatton a guest on it, they talking about negotiations of klitschko and haye and they reported that a promoter (hennesy i think) has said he recieved word that roy jones jr has put his name forward for prizefighter :rofl

im a huge roy fan but this is embarrasing

hes gone from wanting to fight david haye to wanting to fight bums that need a big payday at lightheavyweight

anyone else heard any more on this

with jones hardly being relevent any more nothing was said of it or reported but im kinda shocked to see how low a great fighter can fall

    IF ITS TRUE !!!

Would hate to see him in prize fighter. Its for up and comings and people that possibly deserve a second chance.

Please give it up Roy. I beg you.

At least he wont be taking accumulated punishment. These are short fights so better this than 12 rounds with Haye or Adameck. You only go around once, so if he wants to do it, I wish him the best. And I dont think its any more emmbarrasing than Wlad and Haye dancing around each other. That is emmbarrasing, not a guy having fun at the end of his well earned HOF career.

Hey, he wants to fight and he's not wasting people's time and money by exploiting his name's drawing power on a PPV.

    Don't hate.

If he gets KTFO, he'll have to get the message that it's time to hang 'em up.

If he wins, good for him.

Why is he still fighting? Does he need the money? He must have earned well over a hundred million dollars in endorsements and purses over his career. Staggering if he's broke. He's a great analyst and would walk into a regular gig on TV. It kills me to see him struggling against guys he'd have wiped the floor with 6 or 7 years ago.

he just loves fighting I guess, because he resents the idea of retirement
