    In my opinion, this article that was written by Gary Smith in 1995 for Sports Illustrated, is THE best article on Roy that's ever been written.

    A real treat for any of Roy's fans who may not have read it before.

    without searching, is this the article written right after the Toney fight?
    author thought Roy was coming back to the hotel from celebrating all night but instead he's actually just getting back from roadwork.

    No mate, it's a different one. I don't know why, but I couldn't copy the link yesterday. But I tried to post it because a few people really enjoyed yesterday's article that I posted.

    I think the one you're referring to maybe an excerpt from a book called 'The Dark Trade' by Donald McRae. Roy celebrated the fight by going to McDonalds and he got up the following morning and ran 3 miles.

    The 'One Tough Bird' article was written by Gary Smith in June of 1995. It was just prior to the Vinny Pazienza fight. It's truly an outstanding piece of writing. It details all of Roy's early life with his father, and it details everything that happened behind the scenes. It's absolutely fascinating if you're a big fan of his. I go back to it every few years. Again, I don't why I can't copy the link. But if you type it into your search engine, you'll see it straight away. If you've never read it before, I guarantee you that you'll enjoy it.

    And if your hero was that tough... he wouldn’t have went out like a light against Tarver and Johnson and he wouldn’t have had to resort to PED’s.

    You might have some credibility, if you weren't attacking and namecaling other posters for doing the very same accusations to one of your favourite fighters who, just like Roy, tested positive.

    Dude... I couldn’t give two shits or a **** about “credibility” from YOU of all people. LOL And that should have been obvious by now ;) And the NAME CALLING thing is a two way street. I would tell you to go look at the thread starters other posts to me... but I don’t feel it’s really warranted here. Lol

    Nah... I post positive things about fighters all the time and it’s often met with what you accuse me of being. Pay more attention there sport :thumbsup:

    he's actually spot on
    creating an animated online persona that seemingly enjoys disrespecting people in a way that you wouldn't do to their face, isn't a mark of strong character or someone who is happy with their lot in life

    Roy Jones Jr. has a tiny little head. It kinda resembles a peanut. He did too much ped-o-philing in his day, so i believe it shrunk what was already and small little tiny head.

    I do suggest this is why his abismal chin became a highlight reel. While he probably is the real true GOAT, or top 3 all time...its hard to set aside the Chin talk when speaking on RJJ and that tiny little head.
