Along with his HBO work, this is the sort of thing Roy should be investing his time him, as opposed to further depleting his legacy in the ring.
I don't see Roy as a coach at all Someone fill me in on his resume, but it seems he actually makes guys worse when he takes them under his wing, Sillakh, Pascal, and Chudinov being the guys on top of my head who all looked worse after a training camp with Roy. The guy is an athletic fighter who relied on physical gifts and reflexes more so than pure technical ability, and you can't train foot speed and reflexes. History shows euper athletes like Jordan, Kobe, and Roy just don't make good coaches/mentors because they can't communicate what makes them so good because it is all physical, so they struggle to Understand and mentor other guys because in their heads it was all so easy
Check RJJ's business plan with these boxing schools: Seems he has been knocked out a few times to often. Completely delusional.
Various examples in football (soccer) too. Supposedly when Glen Hoddle became a coach, his players got very dispirited by Glen showing-off during coaching exercises that his ball skills were still better than theirs. Roy Keane's inability to stay in any management role is reportedly due to his total lack of empathy for players with less ability and dedication than himself. I suspect the players who make the best coaches are those who had limited natural talent but made the best of it with dedication and canny tactics.
