    jones was a belt holder at heavy but lennox was the true champ at that time. i think everyone understands that. lewis-jones was being discussed after the klitschko fight. jones would have been a heavy underdog but the fact this fight was even being discussed because of the size difference shows jones' greatness.

    I never disputed Jones“ greatness. Just it getting blown out of proportion by his fanboys.

    So I guess Lennox Lewis wasnt a heavyweight champion either in 1993 because he didnt beat Riddick Bowe. :patsch

    No he didn't just beat a 'contender' by your he beat the number 1 rated contender and that is the reason he picked up the WBA belt.

    Yes Duran started out as a FW around the same age Jones was a 140lber amatuer champion

    Jones wins no sweat. ducked no one and didnt need the careful management Chavez had. its a full grown man vs bottle baby

    Yeah, he beat the number one contender. A contenver nevertheless and not the champ.

    You know there is a difference between amateurs and pros, about the same as between boys and men.

    There is but it shows how many weight classes Jones jumped, effectively going from fighting at 140 competitively to fighting a 235lber over the course of his career. Thats some weight jump
