Which is why they were jelly against Hagler after a round???

Jones's defense was billiant (certainly much better than Hearns') and he wouldn't have needed to wade in like a slow handed plodder like Barkley had to to land on Tommy.

I think it's a bad match up for Tommy. That habit of Tommy's of holding his right hand low was suicide against a guy like Jones who could land a right hand over his jab with speed and power not to mention his ability to throw unexpected lead left hooks from the outside (like the one which seperated Thomas Tate, who probably had a better chin than Hearns, from his senses). All of which Hearns was wide open for against a guy like Jones who was one of the very few who trumped him for speed (Jones's hand and foot speed were both better than Tommy's imo) and matched him for power at 160 (though not p4p).

You're showing bias here.Jones has never quit on his stool, jumped out of the ring or faked a foul to get out of a fight. He was a cautious fighter at his best and yes he was gunshy after his brutal losses to Tarver and Johnson BUT his willingness post prime to seek out the likes of Calzaghe,Hopkins and even Tarver in the rubber match despite having slipped so much he had little or no chance of winning proves he isn't and never was a coward.
