How does the classic forum see a potential Heavyweight match-up between Spinks of Holmes 1 and Roy Jones of the Ruiz fight going?
Given that I think Spinks would have beaten Jones at light heavyweight, I don't see Jones doing any better anywhere above 190 lbs. Neither man was well fit for the heavyweight ranks, but I do think that Spinks was a tad better off. We also have to consider that the Spinks who fought Holmes the first time, was around 29 years of age, whereas Jones was perhaps 33 or thereabouts. While the age difference may bot have been huge, it likely would have been more amplifed given the circumstances.
To me going to heavyweight ruined Jones, but he was still very quick in that fight. Ruiz is horrible to watch, but hes quite quick for a heavyweight. I think Spinks gets outboxed by Jones, he was still too fast.
