Roy's duck list is so long it needs it's own thread. Floyd has fought and beaten the best over the last decade, and when Bob Arum lets Pacquiao into the ring with him, Floyd will beat him down like an ugly ginger stepchild.

Hopkins was just like Roy at the stage of their careers.....highly touted prospects at the top of their division. Roy wasn't elite at that time either.

 

He still wasn't at his best. We all know B-Hop was a late bloomer.

Roy and Floyd have very solid resumes......I think Roy has hurt his legacy because he didn't know when to hang'em up. People remember the KOs and begin to over analyze his resume because of it. Had Roy called it a career after his HW title win against Ruiz Floyd wouldnt even be in the discussion.

But overall both have good names on their ring records....Roy has two legitimately great wins against BHOP and Toney in their primes, but Floyd has consistently dominated throughout his career losing very few rounds.

Prime Roy without question was more dominant than a prime Floyd. Roy come out blazing through the ranks with his super athletic ability and talent that was unmatched.....and it wasn't even close as no one since has had the extreme talent Roy was working with.

The real reason Floyd has been able to sustain his dominant stronghold and Roy faded is simple.....Roy relied on those talents....reflexes, speed and power to win his fights.....Roy had enough talent and athletic ability for a small army.... But all that eventually goes....and if you don't have a solid foundation in the science of boxing then the decline is inevitable. Roy had skills but not like a less talented James Toney or Floyd Mayweather.

Floyd could be like BHOP and fight at a high level for a long time if he really wanted....Roy obviously couldn't. Roy still fights like he is 20 yrs old only he's a lot slower, weaker and lost the ability to pull the trigger.
