You're assuming Jones HAS to do it. If he could clear £250,000 for a month "holiday" in the UK then he'd probably take the cash whether he was desparate or not. Easy money.

Same as that dodgy Churchill advert Hatton did. Having money doesn't stop people wanting to make a bit more when the right opportunity presents itself.

 

True im talking about these figures like making thousands of pounds for a nights "work" which is essentialy having a meal chatting telling a anecdotes and posing for pics is a bad thing.

Not a bad gig if you can get it just in comparative terms it seems less.

 

you saw one great i saw a greater great last year saw sugar ray

but roy like sugar would always be value for money at these things because the speak so well and has charisma , someone like tyson or hearns and duran dosent appeal to me as much because i cant see them being as entertaining would still go see them but this roy jones one sounds amazing

 

did'nt roy try and set up his own record label with a huge loss?

Yeah, thats the thing, even with (say) $20 million in the bank if someone offered you another $500,000 for coming over to the UK for a few weeks to do a few after dinners you'd be there like shot!!!*

Ray Leonard still does them and he's a multi-millionaire.

Leonard is on my "to do" list. You'd be surprised at Duran, although his English is poor and his son has to translate he seems to revel in the attention. He was pretty good value when I saw him.

Hearns was OK but you could tell it wasn't really his "thing".

Exactly gaz add to that people well 99% of them at these shows are blowing smoke up your arse and wanting to talk about the good old days etc etc, I would love to do that fee or not.

 

I'd also like to know, wish he was down in London

 

Anybody wishing to meet Roy Jones compleatly free is welcome at my gym this sunday between 3pm-5pm. Its an open day everybody is welcome, no charge. But there will be a photographer there taking pictures for £25 if needed.
