This has to be one of the only threads everybody should agree on.

The fastest reflexes I have ever seen in a fighter.

Still cannot believe he will be remeber more for getting knocked out in the past few years than the previous 20 Superman years.

He is right though. Jones loved to use the excuse that "it's my mandatory" when he was fighting stiffs.

Jones chose to fight the loser of Hill-Michelczaswki and then fought (in a row).

    Otis Grant
    Richard Frazier
    Reggie Johson
    David Telseco
    Richard Hall
    Eric Harding
    Derrick Harmon
    Glen Kelly

Does that sound like a resume of a P4P#1 fighter? Think about that in today's terms. Most of the fighters listed above were on the Matt Hatton level if not worse. Imagine Mayweather or Pacquaio fighting 7-8 Matt Hatton level fighters in a row while telling us they are P4P#1.

Physically? There is a good case for this.

    Stylistically/Tactically? Hell no.

Roy is up there of course... but 30 years is a long time & there have been some incredibly gifted boxers in that time frame...........

Leonard, Duran, Hearns, Whitaker, Chavez, Hagler, Arguello, Sanchez, Mayweather etc.

A lot of those guys were more complete or better technically than Roy but I`d say Roy was the fastest & probably had the best combination of power/speed, they all had different strengths tho & each guy was better than the rest at certain important things.

To say `most talented` is really a tough call & it depends how you view things.

Yes, boring if you don`t like technical & masterful boxing.
Whitaker was better than Jones p4p.

Amazingly gifted as an athelete but for boxing i think james toney is more gifted. Toney was a football player who didnt grow up boxing like these other stars. He picked it up quite late in his late teens yet does everything like second nature like its been a part of his life since he was a 5yr old boxing like oscar, mosley, or mayweather.

Yeah he was physically the most gifted fighters maybe ever. Its actually pretty amazing that his reflexes and speed were incredible till he was 35. Maybe the fastest hands ever for a older fighter. Hell even vs. Lacy when he was shot to bits he still had arguably the fastest hands in the division. I think he was a brilliant fighter in terms of skill too, no because he was technically sound cause he wasnt, but he created his own style and used his speed and incredible ability to utilize range and balance. It wasnt just his speed, it was his ability to anticipate what his opponents were gonna do before they even did. He basically picked guys off like no one else could have on their best day.
