Remembering him mentioning something about it on this video. I'm not sure as to the exact point in the video he says it though as the sound isn't working on my computer at the moment. I just remember Zab Judah was sitting beside him when he says it, sometime after the 5:20 mark.

    Totally imperfect but useful nontheless.

I really wish HBO/SHO would 1. Always do an unofficial weight and 2. standardize how they do it.

It would go a LONG way toward letting people know which matchups should be made.

Looking at the list in the other thread, I noticed that most guys at 154 and 160 weigh the same. It seems that the better ones fight at 160 and the lower-class ones or the guys who have no power fight at 154. Little stuff like that is kind of telling.

the real solution is probably just to drop the inbetween weight classes, the weights wouldnt be so tight to begin with then.

Plus now you have much more depth in a division when for example you merge light heavy and suppermiddle like the way it was before.

Also bear in mind that a lot of times guys cutting actually hurt themselves more so. Theres a reason that lets take Floyd, theres a very good reason that he made Canelo fight at 152, even though he will weight more on the night for a man to dry out like that weakens him.

Marc Ratner weighed Roy in at 193 for the Ruiz fight, but it hadn't calibrated properly.

There was no way Roy weighed 193, because he started camp at 192.

The day of the fight, Ratner weighed him again on the same balance beam scales, and he weighed 199 with clothes. Ratner shared a joke with Mackie Shikstone, admitting that he'd messed up the first time.

Thomas Hauser reported for Seconds Out, that if you subtracted three pounds for Roy's clothing, he was 196 pounds.

It would probably have been an intriguing clash of styles to some hardcore fans.

But Roy said it would have been a very lacklustre fight for most viewers.

He said they'd both have been waiting on each other, being very cautious, resulting in little action.

Yeah, it's all on the same documentary - The Sweet Science.

But less clothes, he was in the high 190's.

Would you like to see the return of same day weigh ins, if it was deemed safe enough?

well they s****ped it because they were more dehydrated.

But yes I would welcome it if they also went back to the old divisions.

that way theres more room to not be killing yourself over a few pounds
