What example is relevant for Pavlik who's career is a whole 8 yrs long. He had 4 KO's in the first 4 yrs and 3KO's in his last 4yrs.

The example Jack is using is of someone with almost a 20 yr career (only using his last 10 yrs) and not fighting at his natural weight. He thought he was getting an insult in on Jones comparing him to Hopkins, when all he did was prove my point. Pavlik IS fighting at his natural, if not smaller than his weight.

My comparison was between the fighters in their first 32 fights, same as Pavlik has now.

He sure isn't a puncher anymore. That was the point.:lol::lol::lol: You're as smart as Jack. Good for you.

Either way though, Pavlik has been knocking people out, so the idea of him not being a puncher in my mind is ludicrous.

I agree with the other poster who said that TKO's are given out much liberaly nowadays.

Either way, Pavlik would have a very difficult time finding Jones at Middleweight, although he does have a puncher's chance regardless of how you rate his power because Roy has no chin.

Certainly they were. They were however over 6-7 rounds of punishment. And the KO punches were part of combinations. Guys like Jackson, McClellan, Benn, and Prime Jones could hit you with one shot flush and end the fight. No combo necessary. Doesn't mean Pavlik doesn't hit hard. As a matter of fact, his power is worse for you over the long run cuz it destroys your body much like Cotto's does now and as Trinidad's before.

Show me one poster here who said that Pavlik is not a puncher. No one said that.

That right hand put Taylor and Miranda down.

The hooks or uppercuts that followed were just icing on the cake. That's the mark of a good finisher.

And who has Jackson KOed of Taylor's quality?

i kinda like dat pavlik.. but, there are very few fighters througout the the middleweight - LW history of boxing who can beat a prime roy jones...(in my opinion).. with that said, i'd have to go widd Jones 1st round KO

Pavlik by KO arround the 4th, altought he might be in trouble early in the fight. He will hurt Jones bad.......

Herol Graham and Terry Norris (and Norris is a better fighter than Taylor).

Not going to argue over these details. I presented my argument pretty well. I already said you wouldn't agree with me regardless of what I said.

Well I do agree that it's likely that Roy Jones would beat Pavlik, but I don't agree with your assessment of Pavlik as just an accumulation puncher.

And Terry Norris was definitely not better than Taylor.

Really, I'd love to see you argue that point.

True... I was just pointing out that ratio of KO to TKO is a poor way of judging someones power.

True. It is not a definitive way. But if I just said "I see it this way" no one would care lol.

I think Pavlik is like Cotto, where as Prime Jones is like Hamed (but not THAT heavy handed).
