Jones by knockout. I like Ward, he's without a doubt top 3 all time at 168. His spoiling tactics isn't going to work against a 168 Jones though, Jones is waaaaaay faster, hits waaaaay harder and is just flat out the better boxer.
Watching Ward is like watching a "how to box" video, but RJJ is probably the most athletic boxer ever in the ring. I suspect that since RJJ grew up in a boxing family, he had excellent fundamentals too, he just used his athletic ability to override the fundamentals at times. I'd probably favor RJJ at his best, but wouldn't be surprised if AW won. They would probably both be the best the other ever faced, I'd like to see it.
That is a really good post. It wouldn't suprise me at all to see Ward frustrate Jones and beat him clearly. In fact, it would suprise me more if Jones came out and blitzed Ward.
RJJ is the only fighter who fought in the SMW division that I'd make a clear favourite over Ward there, prime for prime. Calzaghe and Toney I'd make 50/50 with Ward.
