Moore may win 1 of 3 in a series, but I'd take Jones to outbox him handily more often than not, just a terrible styles matchup for Archie in that regard. He always has a puncher's chance though.

Roy Jones wide UD, maybe winning every round, his speed would beat Moore to the punch time and again. Moore would have to pressure Jones and Jones can easily side step and counter Moore's much slower pressure. And Jones counters and flush shots would make Moore think twice

Actually given Moore had been ko'd a fair few times, its not unlikely that RJJ takes him out given the amount of flush shots Jones would land. Remember RJJ took out opponents faster than any other P4P punchers from 160-175

Interesting match up. My guess would be Jones using his superior speed to outbox Moore until he get´s timed or runs in a trap. If this happens and Jones get´s hurt he´s finished. Moore is too good of a finisher to let him of the hook. Could see Jones going the distance and taking the decision though.

There's only two possilbe outcomes as I see it.

Jones wide UD (he could potentially stop Archie, but I doubt he risks enough in this fight to go for the stoppage), or Moore late knockout.

I just can't see Jones going 15 rounds without being hit flush by a crafty puncher like Moore, and I can't see him taking that punch well. Moore was a brilliant finisher.

I'm sure if they fought a series both outcomes would come to play at least once, but on one fight my bet would be on Moore catching Roy late and putting enough together once he has him hurt to finish him.

Jones would more than likely beat Moore on points. But with Moore's 'punchers' repuation, awkward style, and cagey defense it would be a boring points decision. I can't see Jones standing in there for too long during the type of exchanges where he wanted to put some hurt on Archie. He'd leave himself exposed to being countered.

I think Moore would expose Jones fear of being hit / suspect chin, and win via mid to late round TKO.

Moore was able to connect clean on Ali with hard shots when he was almost if not 50 years old.

I guess it depends on your stance on Jones chin.

You got a speedster who is very hard to hit but has a supsect chin. WHo do you want to catch this guy? I would say you want the all time KO king who also happened to be a master trap-setter. Moore by KO more often than not.

Moore has the puncher's chance, i'll take Jones but im sceptical and not just giving a consensus pick. The best Archie can likely get a ko win here. But my general pick is Jones.

If your point is that anyone who could KO Lloyd Marshall could KO Roy Jones, point well made.

My point is Moore has only 4 knockout wins that are worth anything in 38 fights with more or less good opposition (some fighters I didn't include for various reasons, such as Marciano, Patterson, primitive Durrelle, etc). 1 worthy KO in 10 fights. Knocking out a hundred stiffs doesn't mean much, you gotta look at his results vs top opposition.

Is that comment in reference to Jones or Moores chin :yep Lets not pretend Moore couldn't be put down and lets not forget Jones is an all time great puncher himself. Charles himself was ko'd a few times, but not by Moore in all their outings

It's impossible to think that Jones, even with his dazzling speed and reflexes, could avoid falling into one of the Mongooses' traps and surviving. I think that Moore's one shot power would be Jone's downfall, no matter how much he would outclass Archie up until then. I have all the respect in the world for Moore's power against ANYBODY, and he would be a threat against anyone for that reason, and not just because of the power, but because of the sneakiness and guile he had in springing his traps, and the fact that he decked Marciano, a feat that was really impressive, even if the Rock basically beat the **** out of him from then on out. Jones at his best can beat guys like Hopkins, Toney and Ruiz every day of the week, but a dangerous old Mongoose like Moore would catch him eventually.
