John Ruiz fights nothing like Arthur Beterbiev. If Roy gets in closr and hugs he is getting dismantled at close range.

His best chance is outboxing Beterbiev, but his resume of firemen, and other low risk options, mostly at 168 and below, do not provide support for a win against Beterbiev at 175.

Roy being leagues ahead of Beterbiev in ability and speed and being one of the greatest of all time in his prime do provide quite a lot of support for beating Beterbiev comfortably and very likely by stoppage. Beterbiev is very hittable and would be target practice vs prime Roy.

It just takes one punch. To think Beterbiev wouldn’t or couldn’t land one punch on that Fragile Glass Jaw is idiocy.

Oh wow holy crap, you Genius, youre right!!!

Somebody should have told all the guys Roy smoked in his prime....

If only somebody, anybody, had landed a punch on Roy in the 10 years he was P4P nr1 he would have been exposed so much sooner.

Crazy that nobody ever thought of punching him in the face

Beterbiev is not a 1 punch KO artist. Nice try kid.

Beterbiev is stopping extremely durable guys who have never been stopped previously. He would seem to be the biggest puncher Roy has faced at 175 by a pretty big margin. That could change the fight dynamics quite a bit from Roy's normal opposition.

Roy would win, Beterbiev is too basic and too easy to hit.

Moreover, Beterbiev would spend the whole fight trying to rabitpunch Roy and Roy's weak point is the chin, not the back of his head. In the process Beterbiev would be KOd.

Seriously, Beterbiev is too basic to win to Roy.

Byrd was a HW who cut down to LHW, he didn't need Shilestone to get him up to a HW weight like Jones. Roy weighed in at 193 pounds, that is even less than Cruiserweight. The Byrd cut was way more dramatic. Byrd still was able to make it 9 rounds, he didn't get KO'd early like Roy did against Tarver. It's not a good comparison, more likely Roy always had a shaky chin but he had slowed down enough to get caught.

I could use Donaire as a counter-argument because he got stopped when he moved up in weight but when he cut weight, he was once again effective. He took punches fine at BW, his only KO loss coming against the Monster in the rematch, which is understandable. It's not like getting stopped by a blown-up MW who wasn't exactly known as a puncher.

Not really. I mean Tarver wasn't a feather-fist by any stretch but I can guarantee you Beterbiev punches harder than him.

You seem to be having a hard time understanding this. Roy has an abysmal Glass Jaw. Feather fisted Glen Johnson savagely KOed him. Beterbiev has more than enough one punch power to shatter that pathetic Chin.

Roy was totally **** by the time he fought Johnson, if you saw the fight you would understand. We are talking about a prime Roy Jones not the 2004 shot Jones, which is what you fail to understand or you are just being dishonest.

Artur only has 20 fights and most of them are C level fighters, but the kids now think he beats up Prime Roy Jones. Hilarious.

Did Jones have a glass jaw before Ruiz or was he too fluid for anyone to actually find out idk but I've got roy UD, Roy is potentially the GOAT pre Ruiz and Beterbiev is very good. GOAT > very good

Roy put on 20lbs of pure muscle for that Ruuiz fight, not the baby fat that Byrd used to fight at heavy. Byrd wasn't a natural heavyweight; he was really a cruiser who would actually gain weight during training camp.

Roy was finished after pulling such a foolish move.

Midgets making five pound weight fluctuations aren't comparable either, sorry.
