I can't believe people are even debating this. Hopkins would shatter Roy's Glass Jaw. I am well aware they fought like 15 years ago and it was a boring boring fight with neither guy willing to mix it up.

At this point in time Glass Jaw Roy gets knocked out.

Even after 2008, I'd still like to see it. Calzaghe beat Jones pretty bad, mainly due to his very high workrate. Still, Roy was in the fight in the early rounds, and averaged his usual punch output according to compubox (it looked like he was gun-shy because Joe never stopped firing the machine gun). It'd be interesting to see how well he can perform under less pressure and lower workrate.

Hopkins by UD though. But it worth a free HBO date. Why not?

Hopkins wouldn't even entertain the thought after seeing what happened to Jones and visiting him Jones in the locker room after that fight. He honestly feels bad for the dude. However, if by some crazy reason this fight ever happened Hopkins wins easily now.

oh by the way, Rico's still a jerk off with those glass jaw comments.

It would be a waste of time even by my standards.

Sadly, this is a case of a fighter's pride getting in the way...

Had Jones taken this fight up until the just before the Antonio Tarver incidents, I may be inclined to pick him to win, but i think he and everyone knows that his hands and feet don't move like old Jones...

Hopkins still moves slyly and does what he has always done to win. (boxes when he can outbox, inside fight, exploit weaknesses, bend rules- whatever it takes to get the Win. )

Jones doesn't have the speed he did when he was Superman, and he doesn't have the strength to makeup for his dwindling speed anymore either.

    Hopkins by KO...now

5 years and back- Jones by ko or shutout on points...

I'm not so sure about that. Jones to me is still faster.

Hopkins has aged a lot better than Jones. Hopkins would win.

I'd pick Hopkins because of his versatility and boxing mind. Could be interesting though if Jones can pull the trigger for a while, they may tire each other out.

Nub Nubly can't imagine this post is serious. RJJ is an all time favorite of mine but he is so past his twighlight. Nubbly does not give RJJ a chance against most decent fighters and that is exactly what hopkins is right now.

Pointless fight after we saw Roy against Calzaghe. Bernard wins and receives little accolades.

Did you see the fight??? I thought it was a very entertaining fight that showed an extreme amount of skill from both of the then young fighters. Roy Jones threw some amazing combos in that fight and Hopkins was also way more active than he is now.

Jones is shot, I think him having a tough time with Hanshaw should have told everyone that Jones was done, and if you had any doubts they should have gone away after Hanshaw was battered by Dirrell.

Hopkins has more left in the tank and would stop Jones I believe, and no I would pay for it, I would pay to watch Jones fight anyone at this point.
