I don't think Jones was as elusive at 175 as he was at 160, see Louie Del Valle. I believe RJJ was better at 168 as well. At 175, I like Bob via ko. Paradoxically, I believe the 168 version stands a better chance against Foster.

Sad news that Bob's just passed. I'm just getting into his career at the moment.

It would obviously have been a very dangerous fight for Roy.

Whenever I comment on Roy fighting against a LHW of the past, I always pick a prime SMW version of him. At SMW, he weighed around 175 on fight night. So you could put forward the version of Roy who fought Toney for this fight.

I agree. The Jones of 1994 to 1999 would have been tough for Foster to beat, but that statement works the other way round - Foster from 1966-70 was a pretty much perfect light heavyweight fighting machine.

Bad style for Roy. Foster by UD. Roy would fight a cautious fight because of Foster's height and punching power.

I think Foster knocks out Roy cold. Roy would have to stop for a little while and that is when he gets hit and goes down hard.

Foster for me. His ATG jab, height and reach would be key elements and he has dynamite in both hands. He's also very patient and doesn't object to working hard for his openings. I think his jab would offset Jones quite a bit and have him work outside his comfort zone at times when attacking. He'd find Foster quite hard to reach comparative to others he'd fought. I think Jones jaw is fine in his best years but Foster can stop just about anyone at 175 and he's a fine finisher. I think Foster by a later stoppage.

    Interesting bout .
People overlook the fact that Foster was what 6'2? With a huge reach and one punch power in either hand.
Roy on the otherhand had speed that Foster never saw but.....
I think the height and reach would bother Jones and Foster only needs ONE PUNCH to take Roy out.
But at the same time Roy could overwhelm Foster with that blazing speed.
    I wouldnt touch this bout!
