In the unlikely event of this fight taking place,i'd pick Froch to do some serious damage to RJJ.Whilst Calzaghe may have been the busier and had the better stamina,he hasn't punched with the same potency since 2003.Froch would eventually start connecting with Roys Jaw and it would be lights out soon after.Roy doesn't have the mobility, stamina, reflexe's or power he once had,so i dont see him being able to keep Froch at bay for long.RJJ may have dropped Calzaghe, but it was a flash knockdown and he hit Joe with his elbow/forearm not his fist.Froch by KO/TKO in the middle rounds.:good
At 40 Jones Jr should not fight below light heavyweight and should consider cruiserweight. Based on that I will pick Froch to win. However I was impresed that that Jones acatuly boxed Omar Sheika as oposed to trying to us his speed. If Jones can keep boxing as oposed to trying to out speed his opoents at his age he may have a chance to do well at 175-200, but I can not see him at 40 ever returning to 168 and beating anyone in the top 10. It would be the greatest win of Jones career even more so than his wins over Hopkins and Toney.
RJJ doesn't have nothing to do with the best of any division and im force to admit that Froch his on of them in the 168lbs! Froch by KO9
Froch isn't Calzaghe; he hasn't got the boxing skills to dominate him. He'd probably just outwork him in a yawny, close UD.
jones looked really easy to hit though when he fought calzaghe, he isn't able to get in and out of range anymore like he use to, i think froch would smash him up, but would hate to see that as he had a really special ,rare talent
Jones wins the fight as long as he can run then tires and probably gets kod or maybe a tko on the ropes
I voted Roy on points. I know he's past it now, but every great fighter has one last good perormance left - Froch is not Calzaghe, I think Roy would not take risks and pot-shot his way to a narrow points win.
Jones on points. He's bigger, faster and more powerful than Taylor, yes, the current version, and doesn't have stamina problems. It's a fairly even fight on paper but would turn out to be a one-sided decision win for Jones. Froch is not active enough. Jones actually threw a lot of punches vs. both Tito, overweight and inactive, and vs. Calzaghe, on his top, who just overwhelmed Roy with power punches. But other than the cut, Jones never looked to be in serious trouble, showed very decent handspeed and pop in his punches, was just outnumbered by Joe's output, nothing Kessler could do about it. But Roy landed more punches on Joe than Hopkins and than anyone ever except Kessler. It surely wasn't as one-sided as the scores would suggest. Roy still has a Froch ass whooping in his tank, perfect style match-up for him.
