Roy Jones in his prime? I dont even think Dawson would be near the same level

Probably an embarrasing UD in favour of Jones

Are you people out of your damn minds? PRIME Roy Jones Junior? Seriously? Chad Dawson is a talented kid. But the difference between him and a prime RJJ would show man VS boy in there. I hate to say it because I was never a huge RJJ fan but he would've been a h2h nightmare for practically any other fighter in his weight range. Period. Old Glenn Johnson brought Chad into a dogfight and lost a very close one to him in their first match. RJJ would butcher Dawson in the unlikely event he didn't just knock him out in the first round or two. Remove head from ass, go watch some RJJ from before he moved up to HW and came back down.

Yeah. I'm hoping people are just a bit confused about what version of Jones this match-up involves. Prime RJJ was something else, Chad Dawson is a good fighter but not even in the same universe.

First of all De Valle is no where near as fast as Dawson or as sharp defensively. The thing about Chad is he really doesn't have the stage to showcase his talent like Roy had. He destroyed Adamek in 12, but while the Adamek hype train grows most people just forget about that fight. He outclasses Tarver and Johnson twice a piece, but oh those are just boring fights against grandpas. He could beat both Cloud and Pascal, which I think he will do by the end of the year, and unify all major titles but he still wouldn't gain that kind of respect. Roy was a specimen but H2H Dawson, Jones doesn't win easily IMO

I think some people voted before they read the thing and the part about prime. I did.

flash KD, he wasn't hurt at any point in the fight and if you watched it you would know. Adamek on the other hand was on the verge of being stopped at several points late in the fight and was lucky, even with the KD, to get more 2 rounds to his favor.

I thought I did mention "prime" in the poll question. I could be wrong. I can't check anymore.

Del Valle does kind of fight like Dawson. Except maybe Dawson is a bit faster, and more athletically gifted.

The poll is close, but then again some of you didn't vote base on RJJ being at his prime. I voted "draw", and I honestly think that if a prime RJJ were to win, it wouldn't be a shutout, but actually a good fight, and even a close fight.

I just edited this post right now. It does say "prime" in the poll question. But I didn't mention in the thread title which is what a lot of you are probably going by.

It would remind me of Tarver Jones 1. Jones just a little bit ahead. Dawson does not have the punch defense or killer instinct to win. Sure he is fast but that is about it.

I would be nothing like Tarver Jones 1.... For one Roy wasn't prime, and for 2 Tarver and Dawson fight nothing alike, they are both southpaws thats about it.

Roy does but a guy like Chad would always give him hell. It would be a great match up with Roy wining a close UD.
