Roy Jones jr. vs Chad Dawson

Dawson on pts right now . Jones couldn't afford to lay on the ropes against an active fighter such as chad right now .

 

Jones would put up a good fight because Chad fights in spirts so I dont know, the fight would actually make perfect sense for Dawson and for Jones at this point in both of their careers. Dawson would have Jones name on his record and if Jones did win it would kind of redeem him from some of his previous losses especially the Calzaghe one and if Hopkins does not want any part of Dawson then it would leave the door open for Jones to fight one more top level fight

 

Dawson would knock him out. Jones would stay on the ropes way to much for someone like Dawson.

 

I'm sure the fight will get made if chad beats tarver again and jones fights woods and wins . Hey If Jones at this stage is willing to take the risk by all means .Chad would have all the pressure . I would favor chad ..

90% - Dawson TKO as ref steps in as RJ takes a pounding on the ropes.

10% - RJ KO. He still has blazing hand speed and he might catch Dawson with something and finish him.

 

Dawson on points but unimpressively.

 

To be fair, if Roy does to Chad what he did to Joe C and fights well for a round and a half before getting gassed, well....there is a chin issue with Dawson it might seem, Adamek dropped him, and Johnson hurt him a few times, Roy could blow him away in the first round.

However, I'd say there's a 10% chance of that happening. This Roy gets taken aprt and stopped within eight rounds, Dawson won't carry Roy like Calzaghe did, he'll want the K.O to cement his reputation, I got the feeling that Calzaghe purposely held abck on Roy out of respect/pity.

And with all this talk of Woods fighting Jones a 2nd time for the chance to fight Dawson, where the Hell is Tavoris Cloud??? I thought he was the IBF mandatory to Dawson?

Roy Jones should fight Cloud. He could easily school Cloud, but Cloud is also strong and super-aggressive, I'm not sure Roy could deal with it at the moment.

I was hoping Cloud would fight Woods. Woods' chin would be a good test of Cloud's power, his toughness and experience would cause him trouble as well. If Cloud beat Woods then we'd know whether he deserved a shot at Dawson then (although the Gonzalez win was impressive nonetheless, anotehr top contender would cement it)

I've thought for a while that Cloud is kryptonite to Dawson, wanna' see if that's really the case

 

Roy jones wouldn't even beat andre dirrel right now.
