after Roy Jones Jr. handpicked John Ruiz and won the WBA paper title, Dr. Vitali Klitschko was his mandatory. How would this fight have gone had Roy stuck around? I say Dr. Vitali Klitschko KO 1.

    Thoughts?

Vitali is a true heavyweight, and a huge one at that with decent skills.

Maybe he'll get injured or something, but I would make him a pretty heavy favorite over Roy.

Why bother to pose this question? We already know that you hate the guy and put him on your all time #1 worst chin list.

    RJJ via 12-0 wipeout.

Outside of maybe parrying and slipping punches in the pocket, i can't think of anything that Chris Byrd does better than Roy. But yet Byrd, who was weaker, slower and had less punching power than Roy was able to constantly back Vitali up while landing his shots at will, and frustrated him to the point where he felt the need to pull a no mas.

It would be a long, embarrassing and frustruating evening for Vitali if he were forced to step in the ring with the '03 pre-weight drained Heavyweight version of Roy. :yep

Byrd had a very solid chin which was proven against the best. RJJ was an extraordinary fighter but can you really see him taking no punches from Vit for 12 rounds? It's one thing for a slickster to slip and dodge punches from more orthodox fighters with a similar reach, but no way he'd manage it with Vitali while landing anything himself :nono

Fin-land :)think), where glass chins don't affect fight predictions
