Roy and it is not close. Roy's reflexes is probably the greatest ever in boxing - if not of all entertainment sports. PBF could probably not do some of Roy's extreme antics (stick his chin then six blast your face before you can even pull your punch back). PBF is fast - no doubt. ATG level. But part of his "speed" is incredible ability to predict your moves. He is really not using his instinctive reflex as more of great planning. It is like Peyton calling an audible at the line (PBF) vs Vick bootlegging after the hike (RJJ). Both looks brilliant but one is more about the mind and the other is physical instincts.
Ummmm..no bro...no bro...Jones is great...but look I dont want to get into a whole new arguement about Floyd being unpolished..I just broke down everything....we're only talking about reflexes....Home boy just showed me the vid of Roy supposedly at his best regarding his reflexes, and it was unimpressive ...Im sorry but Jone's reflexes are just like SRL, Or any other fast elite fighter....its special...but its nothing special compared to Mayweather..Mayweather is a child prodigy...Jones was very ver great with his reflexes...but not a child prodigy...u dont throw those terms around
Go to 23:16 in the video and look at the counter Roy hits Bernard with. This is some reflexes right here [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UiZidHFJgRU[/ame] I read it and realized I used a bad example
Thats a quick 1,2, I saw in there...I see he used that pull counter move too....now Im finna counterpunch u with a video
Pure boxing skills favor Floyd but reflexes favor Roy. People forget he went a couple years without losing a round.
Aight notice...sometimes when he uses the pull, he might pull and impulsively throw an extra punch...that left hand in their is spontaneous and it might just decide to get a piece of the action...also, when he feints, he may feint textbook style wide to his right, under ur counter to the pull, he may impulsively feint the left like he does in the marquez clip where he feints ur right hand which is cool and funky...and in the mosley, he simply drops down, feinting VERY thin, ..simply snatching his head from the air, making his entire head vanish beneath u like a cartoon character...like bugs bunny disappearing in a hole while yosamite sam shoots at him ..or like a ground hog dipping his head [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H8_kPRkf5eY[/ame]
Two completely different fighters in terms of how they use their reflexes. Jones due to having good punching power was able to get the respect of his opponents, so guys wouldn't come at him with a barrage of punches. As a result RJJ could be somewhat lacks on the technical aspects of his defense(hands down, lead uppercuts, no jab etc). FM on the other hand uses his reflexes for his defense very well, far better than RJJ technically. He sits back and waits for his opponents to mke a mistake and strikes and gets defensive quickly, never leaving himself open for a counter. So to sum it up, in my opinion RJJ had better offensive reflexes and FM had better defensive reflexes. AS far as who was faster, it doesn't matter, they're both light years faster than I could ever dream to be.
