Okay, seeing as some people on here are just total morons, who wins this fantasy matchup? Who's a better opponent?

I can remember a time when JC got a load of **** for fighting Manfredo having had a little break in fighting the best available opponents. Can I then ask why nothing was mentioned about Pavlik fighting Lockett? Surely he should have just left the belt as he's the recognised 'man' at 160lbs and pursued a fight with someone slighly above the level of "mobile punching bag".

Is it me or does agenda shift to suit arguements in this place? (that's rhetorical)

I'm finding it quite funny how much bitching there is about a guy who's fought the best fighters available at 168lbs and 175lbs and is being accused of ducking a 1 dimensional crude but effective slugger who's not had to mix it with anyone remotely on Calzaghe's level. Light heavyweight ducks a middleweight :rofl :rofl :rofl :rofl :rofl

    In ****ing tears!

    That's harsh and unfair.

I confidently predict that, if the Pavlik v Calzaghe fight does not come through then all those people who criticise Calzaghe for staying at SMW around 2001/2002 defending his title rather than moving up to LHW, moving to America and forcing a fight with Roy Jones (even though Jones says he never wanted the fight) will apply exactly the same consistent arguements to Pavlik.

If he fights Rubio rather than getting it on with Dennis Inkin in a Hamburg bierkeller or Carl Froch at Nottingham Ice Rink, the resulting tide of criticism for Pavlik may actually cause total internet implosion.

I'd like to believe that the same would apply, but I'm not so sure it would be the case in reality.

This fight can happen, Kelly may have to chase it though. Rightly so, he's on the outside looking in.

    Agree with the OP.

People talk about Calzaghe fans being one eyed but the new breed of Pavlickers are something else, rational thinking and objectivity are completely beyond them.

Pavlik is likeable as a fighter, a personality and is great for boxing but these numptys jizzing over every mention of him on here just make you want to see the ****er get chinned and as soon as possible!!!

    He really really isn't.

I rate him fifth best UK middleweight. And we have our worst crop of middleweights ever.

Hoe many Lockett fights have you seen to base the assertion on btw?

    Enough said really.

Manfredo beat David Banks after losing to Calzaghe. Banks would beat Lockett.
