Yep and you could see how lazy he got with ones who were levels below him...when it mattered he turned it on.do you think canelo would beat Hopkins at middle?
Don`t know why you`re bothering bringing up those two KO victims, it wasn`t even worth mentioning, Paz got stopped at 135 by Mayweather, Canelo would have iced him with his eyes shut and Vaca wa stopped at 147 by Honeyghan, Canelo hasn`t been stopped at 147 or at any other weight either so you made an obvious point, plus Canelo is far more powerful than Vaca or Pazienza were.
Canelo would have toyed with the version of b-hop that Jones beat, b-hop was not rated in the P4P rankings at that point and was very green compared to the spoiler he would develop into. Hopkins didn`t crack the top 10 p4p till 1999 when he had improved vastly. Roy Jones Jr. Floyd Mayweather Jr. Felix Trinidad Oscar De La Hoya Shane Mosley Mark Johnson Ricardo Lopez Erik Morales Bernard Hopkins Stevie Johnston
Nobody toyed with b hop...even Jones didn't toy with b hop...maybe your seeing something with Alvarez that I'm not ... I see Alvarez as a very talented slick fighter with good counter punching and combinations..good boxing brain and iron chin Who lost to the best fighter he faced...was he green...no..he'd had plenty of fights...had he Peaked...no...but it wasn't close. Golovkin fights...GGG might be the best middle of the last decade but...he doesn't look special..he does everything right..has a great jab, iron chin ,great power... excellent at cutting off the ring...good footwork...and boxing brain...and I think he beat Alvarez comfortably... twice.... Lara...while I don't like him and he got on his bicycle..I still think he beat Alvarez..just...very negative. I didn't really start to dislike Alvarez til he failed his drug test..amid some Diva ish behaviour the guy still wants to fight all the best and is a great fighter...but I've not seen anything out of him that leads me to believe he could even take a round off a peak Roy Jones....and I think Hopkins was too savvy for him as well....although that's a far more winnable fight than Roy....Jones would absolutely clown him...im not sure why you posted a pound4pound list as they are subjective
any version of hopkins is a nightmare for canelo, he would constantly disrupt him and make him uncomfortable. 90s hopkins was already a incredibly tricky fighter who took advantage of any mistake the opponent made.
Only a p4p top 10 fighter would stand a chance v Canelo and B-hop was not that savvy in 1993 he developed and improving breaking through in 1999 after changing into a spoiler.
P4P is subjective...a fighter can have talent, ringcraft and guile and be a very very good fighter without making it onto a P4P list...some fighters don't even look special but are still hard to beat
No but he is now, fighters don`t start their careers in the P4P ratings, he hadn`t fougt anyone at a level that would elevate him to top P4P status until he beat Loma who was P4P No.1 in a lot of people`s eyes before that fight.
Exactly my point...someone doesn't need to be p4p ranked to beat another fighter..and obviously if someone pulls off a thing they tend to get elevated...you said a fighter would have to be p4p ranked to beat canelo But we're getting off subject...I'd pick peak b hop to beat peak canelo ...and green b hop to beat green canelo And Roy would pummel him
