Roy Jones Jr. vs. James "Buster" Douglas

Buster had probably the greatest potential of any fighter i have ever seen. On any given night if Buster could dig down deep he could beat anybody including Holyfield, Lewis, Bowe. But he would NOT beat RJJ ever. It would be a battle in Hook City but there is no doubt in my mind Manny Pacquaio got knocked the **** out.

 

How you can call a light heavyweight champion not moving up to heavyweight as a 'duck' is absaloutley ridiculous.

 

Roy talked a lot about fighting heavyweights and never followed through, I think it was just to keep his name in the media.

He talked about:

Douglas

Holyfield in Africa (wtf)

Tyson

Lewis


He couldve made any of those fights, but he was smarter than that.

 

What I initially thought it was asking too. Then I read actual contents of the duplicate in the General.

 

Oh, that might explain the poll.
If people are voting for a 1990 Douglas, rather than 1998 version.

It's not the first I've heard of it, I just assumed it wasn't the '98 version of Douglas in question. There's been crazier threads where Roy is matched against Tyson, and people weren't just pondering the '02-'03 incarnation.

Could someone please tell me other fights where Douglas "dialed it in". It just occured to me that I've only seen him in the infamous Tyson fight.
So, any other good Douglas showings, or was he a one trick pony?

 

Tokyo Douglas would destroy Roy. Roy would never contemplate a move up to fight even a washed up Douglas.
