I think he's too gunshy, which is a shame because he still has the power. Like Lampley said, he fights until he is satisfied with the way the round is going in favor of him.
Lets not forget that in the Trinidad fight he fought injured so he couldn't pull the trigger as often ..I think a fighter of JT 's workrate will force Jones to let his hands go ..His legs are decent enought to make it a fight its not like Pavlik had the legs of a rabbit all he did was just walk JT down ..Jones could do the same.
Jones only fights in spurts, but he is still quick. Tito still had a very hard left hook and I though did well for a while. Taylor's stamina is not great, so if he stopped Roid could catch him.
I can see Taylor outworking Jones for a while, but I can also see Jones catching him with a sneaky quick punch.
Haha. Yup. :| I'm really not sure about this fight. Jones just ain't what he used to be and I think Taylor is improving big time because of his battles with Pavlik. Just needs to up his workrate and he stands a damn good chance of beating old Roid. It'd be a bad day for Taylor if he gains another L so soon.
Don't think Jones can pull out that one "last great fight"? Or am I holdin' onto something that just ain't there?
I think winning that fight is possible for Jones, but always remember, he does fight in spurts, so does Taylor, Taylor is younger but Jones has been at a higher weight longer. Interesting fight though.
Jones beats Trinadad and Trinadad faces Pavlik a world champion while Jones faces Taylor who lost his last 2? Seemes fair to me.
