Yeah I know that....but Hopkins wasn't 43 when he fought Jones either. I still think Hopkins deserved the nod in that Calzaghe fight personally but I know I'm in the minority. If Jones and Hopkins fought tomorrow at 175 I think Jones would do the same again, just embarrass the guy. Calzaghe didn't embarrass Hopkins regardless of the joke scorecards. I'm not confident on this one but I do think Jones is a live underdog going into this, one thing I don't like is that they both appear to be very friendly with each other, that bothers me on several levels.

I have seen him interviewed recently and he sounds no different to me than how he sounded years ago to be honest. He's never been the most coherent of speakers. At least he's not Welsh though.

What I've seen so far from this Jones is that he doesn't string together combinations as much like he did in his prime. I do also see when he throws his leaping right hand it has the same or very similar speed that it always had. When he throws that right he doesn't follow up with anything else. What I've mentioned all has to do with his lack of confidence after being KO'd. This can be nullified when he decides he can't be hurt by Calzaghe and starts stringing together combinations.

Mike Tyson's comeback 'fight' was, according to some in the sparce crowd, a sparring match with a gentleman's agreement not to hurt each other. Think this shapes up the same way then?

I'll make these observations and then leave it alone.

1 - Calzaghe has the right style to beat Jones. Roy likes to dictate pace, Calzaghe SHOULD be able to prevent this.

2 - Jones' shiniest new punch in his technically sound comeback has been his jab. Calzaghe is going to take that away from him, just like he did Kessler's.

3 - Jones will struggle to time Cazlaghe.

    But fingers crossed.

:good I said this awhile ago while most were busy hating on Joe for looking for a huge paycheck against a legend.

No way Joe ends his career in America.

I said it before, Calzaghe - Pavilk, Millenium Stadium, Wales, April 2009.

I've got a horrible feeling that's what it'll be yes. The lack of promoters adds to that worry. For some reason Jones likes that **** Calzaghe, just like he liked Trinidad which is the only reason he held Trinidad up for about 6 rounds. I'd rather see Roy going into this one breathing fire from his nostrils than being all friendly with this utter ****. Hope I'm wrong and he damages the wanker

Well, Pavlik was willing to move up when Joe had the belts. Those are now gone. And the OH? Seriously, I don't think Joe wants ANY part of Pavlik. The Pavlik fight would have brought more money now than it would in April. I'll be interested to see if this fight really does bring more money, especially now that it will be promoted by amatures.

Not happening, not in a million years. Pavlik doesn't meet the criteria for Camp Calzaghe (emphasis on the 'camp')

He'll most likely exhume Sugar Ray Robinson and sling a few slaps in his direction then retire claiming to be the greatest P4P fighter ever

I saw an interview where Jones looked antsy and ready to kill somebody. I believe he comes in like he did in the second Griffin fight.
