How is a 36 yr old any different to a 39 yr old?

At 36, RJJ was considered shot.

I could see Jones going to the body to take some of the life out of Joe early.

Yes, he was shot 3 years ago and now the supossedly p4p guy is fighting him 3 years later. Thats a pointless fight.

Maby since he is 36 he in fact absolutly wants to avoid is Tarver because he as no balls.

Besides the fighters PugilisticPower listed, Richie Woodhall was another case where this happened.

But hey- you seem to love bringing up "43 year old Hopkins" enough, so why don't we also look a little deeper into what Bernard traditionally does- as in, Hopkins is a 2nd half fighter himself. He's always been that, and was that right up until the Calzaghe fight. So, instead of making it sound like Hopkins always gasses just because he was 43, why didn't you mention that Bernard's conditioning is usually top grade? His losses against Jermain were because he started slow, not because he finished slow. And yes, Calzaghe did wear him down to the point where he actually had to fake low blows to get a 2nd wind.

So, while it wasn't a spectacular win for Calzaghe, why don't we at least give him credit where it's due: Hopkins was still the top LHW due to his domination of Tarver, still a P4P fighter, still a ***** of a matchup for anyone from MW to LHW, and Bernard still trained and fought hard...and Joe beat Hopkins in his own backyard with the ref against him. It's quickly becoming an underrated win for Calzaghe just because he had to fight through a Hopkins style fight to get it.

You can't 'condition' age. It catches up to you. Plain and simple.

If JOE can fight like Glenncoffe JOhnson, he can pull it off

RJJ in his prime is a whole different story!

I'm really looking forward to this one...I think it would be dangerous to count out a legend like RJJ (even if he is perceived as being 'shot')

Prediction - I have to go with Calzaghe.
