At the end of the day Joe was honest with himself at the time; it's about time some of his fans were too. :D;)

Calzaghe was calling out Jones and Hopkins for years (many times during 2001-2005) ...but his detractors seem to forget this and brand him the ducker.

It has also been said Calzaghe was "fearful" to unify  comon who was he scared of? Ottke was a joke and didnt want the fight..who else? Beyer, Lucas, Mundine? No way in hell Joe was scared of fighting them...they werent any better than the former champs he did face - likes of Reid, Mitchell, Woodhall and Brewer.

  7. What is the point - even if someone managed to come up with a fantastic argument - you'd be ridiculed..

Calzaghe in his final fight was probably the toughest opponent Jones had ever faced in his career - certainly in the top 3.

As for the film aspect - maybe some people like to rise to the occasion??? The better the fighter - the better your performance? Joe looked less than stellar in quite a lot of his fights - put Lacy and Kessler infront of him - ones who were supposed to outbox him, ko him etc. What happens? He gives out one of the most oneside thrashings in a long time, and comfortably outboxes and confuses his nearest challenger.
To put it in perspective - Andrade gives Bute hell, probably everyone in the division hell - Kessler won Wide UD. Kessler never lost a round on all 3 judges cards before Calzaghe.

Win or lose - if Calzaghe thought that Jones could beat him - you'd see the very best of him, and I'd bet that prime Jones wouldn't be as happy to face him as he would be other opponents.
