This matchup intrigues me. Will Jones be too quick for Schmeling or will Schmeling time him into oblivion with that right hand of his? How does Schmeling's right compare to Tarver's left?

Schmeling was good. Nowhere near as fast as Jones, but way faster than Ruiz, and was durable and hit hard. I see a scenario where Jones does well for a while but eventually gets worn down probably for a late stoppage. Not sure that RJJ should be playing with the big boys like this.

Well, we saw how Max handled smaller fighters in Walker and Stribling. However, Jones was different to them. I see Jones having success in the beginning but once tasting Max' right he will be on his bike. Question is if that allows him to score enough to win and to avoid getting knocked out. I don't think so personally, I think Max will make him slow down and then lay a beating on him later in the fight and stop him.

Agree. Although to be fair, if any small fighter could do a hit and run job on the heavies it would be RJJ. I wouldn't write him off, either. It could potentially be a very good fight

Jones would run rings around him and box him silly.

Yep, if anybody than Jones. However, one reason that makes me pick Max is how relatively unproven Jones is at that level - Toney being his sole win over a prime potential atg (not completely sold JT is one), Hopkins is one but wasn't exactly prime. Jones always has this asterisk for me. Schmeling might well be the best fighter he ever faced and bigger than him as well.

Jones would get caught sooner or later and stretched out, this ain't Ruiz, Max was dangerous
