that's the huge factor in things. He simply does not hold up. He couldn't fight back then because he'd have to fight too often and too many rounds against top competition.

Who really knows whether Griffin would have been wrecked just as quickly had Futch been in the corner? No trainer can possibly control for every conceivable variable in the ring, but guys like Futch did better than the simpletons we see today and as well as if not better than anyone, ever. He deconstructed styles, which is more than "go and get that m*tha f*cka!"

Futch would have had "zero impact" in Jones-Griffin II? That's a little too conclusive for what can only be a guess. I think it's a bad guess.

Futch lost plenty of big ones, sure, but that doesn't remove the fact that he was one of boxing history's great strategists.

Which brings me to a final question for you: Do you think that the Futch factor in the first career loss of Ali, Holyfield, and Jones, in addition to Ali's second career-loss (Norton) was imaginary?

I'll counter your question with my own. Do you think the remarks spoken by Jones as an analyst at HBO broadcasts are mere improvisations that make little sense? Since he's all about natural talents and never had any well-known trainer who tutored him, so he has no technical skills to be able to notice such skills in the others and to explain their details and purpose to the audience?

Thats an easy answer. Jones is **** as an analyst and spends more time talking about himself than what hes watching. If he is your idea of a schooled analytical mind then well thats pretty shocking. to pretend jones didnt rely on athleticism and was poorly schooled technically is to ignore reality.

You shouldn't duck questions. It calls to mind a certain fighter..... never mind.

Your question is easy. I am struck by how much the expert analyst Jones doesn't see. At times he can be pretty good, but never more than that and usually less. He does not demonstrate half the knowledge of technique and tactics that I'm hearing from Malignaggi.
