How would the Roy who fought Ruiz do against the Usyk who fought Joshua?

Peak 94-99 Roy? Usyk by decision.
2000 and onward Usyk by KO.

Roy has a bantamweights chin, a glass jawed bantam weight.

Roy picked John Ruiz as an opponent for a reason. Any good HW that can get to that chin is winning by KO.

    Usyk by KO

Jones' hands down approach in the Ruiz fight would lead to him getting knocked out by Usyk. Jones spent most of the fight (most of his fights really) with his hands down. Ruiz wasn't fast enough or good enough to capitalize on it.

Jones would get knocked senseless against Usyk, a southpaw fighter with superior fundamentals and skills. The only advantage Jones have is a little bit of speed and that will buy him only a few rounds before he gets timed and knocked out.

Yeah, the guy knocked down by Lou Del Valle in his prime is beating Usyk.

Can I buy drugs from you?

lol! Usyk is far quicker than Ruiz and AJ would have beaten Roy, he didn`t look that god at heavy at all.

Could you imagine any of Roy`s LH opposition standing a chance v Usyk? Roy was too sall, Usyk is P4P an amazing fighter nobody smalle than him could beat him, Roy didn`t look special at heavyweight, Ruiz was garbage.

Roy, no question for me. And I love both guys. People forget that Jones only showed chin issues when coming back down from heavy - by which time he was approaching his mid 30s (a time when speed and reflexes fighters tend to decline). When he beat Ruiz think of what he had already done, rather than what was to come (number one P4P, virtually undefeated, barely lost a round in his career). He was never the same after the Ruiz fight. Yes it was a cherry pick - but he had to be good enough to make it work. And he was - easily. How many other former middleweights are grabbing heavyweight belts?
I lived through the Roy prime years and I will continue to back Jones from 94 - 03 to beat all manner of exceptional fighters - including Usyk, here or at cruiser.

In what world does Roy even sign the contract to fight Usyk?
The same world where Floyd signs to fight Sugar Ray Leonard and Antonio Margarito on the same night?

Usyk turns Jones to mincemeat. Way too big with a style that is horrible for Jones, because Jones would be trying to push the pace against a guy with longer dimensions who can hit harder than him without loading up. Jones is good against lead-footed, static heavies with low workrate. Usyk is very mobile with a high workrate and who mixes his punches up well. Let's do RJJ vs Ali next
