This. Usyk beat THE Heavyweight Champion twice. He also beat the #2 Heavyweight twice.
Glass Jaw Roy handpicked John Ruiz and never fought again at Heavyweight. Speaks volumes.

I don't think Briedis is great personally i'd rate him as very good the great Cruiserweights for me are Holyfield, Usyk, i don't really think there's been an actual great Cruiserweight apart from them two but that's just my opinion of course.

You’re a harsh man, my friend. But I respect your opinion.

Usyk turned pro 2 months before his 27th birthday. Hell, he didn't even take up boxing until he was 15 y/o. If Roy or Floyd took up boxing at 15 not only would they never have achieved anything in the sport I doubt they would've made it past regional level, especially Roy with that absolute liability, joke and disgrace of a chin of his, and I mean if he was jacked on all his steroids which of course he always would be

So Usyk first donned a pair of gloves at 15 and has won

Olympic gold (he got robbed in the 2008 Olympics), World Amateur gold, European gold

Went undefeated in the WSB vs giants with no catchweights or rehydration clauses or roids like Roy and Floyd needed vs bigger men)

Undisputed CW champion in 15 fights

Undisputed HW champion in 22 fights

Won all of his medals in major tournaments on the road and all his world titles in his opponent's backyards sans the last one which was still on the road

As the B-side on a deck stacked or heavily stacked against him

2 x Fighter of the Year

The P4P King for the majority of the last 3 years I think (I will have to check)

Never badly hurt or dropped by a head shot despite running through a gauntlet of savage punchers and legit bangers (imagine how many times Roy would've been laid out cold on his back or face if he dared do the same even in the US jacked on his roids), giants, and giant savage punchers.

And all via the use of pure skill and clean boxing with zero use of dirty tactics, fouling, deck stacking, trying to weaken or cripple his opponent's at the negotiating table so that he was essentially rolling with loaded dice, ducking, ducking savage punchers, ducking certain styles, refusing to travel, refusing to do PED testing by certain agencies etc. ie. the complete opposite of Roy and Floyd

I've honestly forgot how many times Roy has been knocked out and does anyone remember why Floyd started crying about Logan Sweet Hands Paul who is his Tyson Fury holding in their fight because I do? The irony could not have been more priceless

    Usyk

    Floyd

    Roy

PS. I had to edit it to push Roy even further down after realising I had him a bit too high

I don't think you're following. How much further do you want to shift the bar? I've been watching Floyd fights recently, he was phenomenal. Skill for skill I have him up with anyone. Resume? No. Achievements? No. And he regularly lost rounds. He wasn't an untouchable beast like a prime Roy. He wasn't that kind of fighter. If he had more power he could have been that guy who was dominant and never lost rounds. You're a fan of Floyd, so am I. But in your case it's clearly blinding you from thinking clearly about him.

Some people on a discussion board you're not going to find much value in talking with, and you're one of those people for me. For someone called philosopher you're not much of a thinker or seeker of truth. I'm not trying to be mean but I don't want to talk to you.

I'm not trying to claim that Usyk didn't lose rounds. I raised that when someone was claiming that Floyd was dominant as an argument on why he was greater.
Wins don't matter, quality of wins matter. Otherwise you have to say that every 20-0 prospect is greater than Lomachenko or Beterbiev.
I don't know what you mean by a ranked win. Usyk regularly fought and beat champs all over the world. Became undisputed twice. Undisputed against unbeaten guys. How many times was Floyd undisputed, how many times did he take an unbeaten prime opponents 0 away? Floyd was the money man, he was always looking for the name he could make the most from.
Punch stats, compubox? What a ridiculous thing to take seriously and judge a fighter by. That's not even worth talking about.
I'll concede the last point because Floyd did have more fights and that was how he operated - who is a name who is past their best or not at their best yet that I can beat for the most money? Usyk was always trying to find and beat the best for all the belts. Two totally different ways of going about it. If you're talking about who is the greatest and who achieved the most it's not even close, Usyk is so far ahead of him and even ahead of Pac. At least you can admit that Pac is greater than Floyd, and that's why I bring him up. Usyk is clearly greater than Pac as well, Floyd isn't even as great as his rival.

And this folks is why people are getting tired of the hype Usyk gets its his intolerable fans that do it.

Usyk is a nice guy very good resume a great fighter nothing to dislike about him.

I even made a thread prior to the Usyk/Fury fight saying "it would be better for the sport if Usyk wins"

So i do like Usyk but i can also have a realistic honest opinion about his career and overall ranking.

But when you read stuff like this "Usyk is far ahead of Mayweather and even Pacquiao"

It makes you just shake your head in disbelief.

Brother I'm not shifting the bar you just come out with random statements which I disprove and then you have no answer for it.

You claimed "Mayweather should have 3 losses"

which i disproved to be false.

You then claim "Mayweather regularly lost rounds and wasn't dominant"

So I put a question to you how many fighters won more than 3 rounds vs Mayweather in his career ?

Which you couldn't answer hence that proves my comment to be true that Mayweather was dominant and winning most of his fights in his career convincingly.

You then claim Usyk has a better resume and better achievements but that's not backed up with factual statistics.

Mayweather has beaten more notable names including fighters who ranked in the top 10 P4P and fighters who are considered great.

Mayweather has more world title wins and multiple titles across 5 weight classes.

So I don't know where you are getting this from that Usyk has better achievements and a better resume.

On average lower weightclasses mostly always have more talented fighters and better names.
