While it's certainly true that Mike Tyson was a very skilled fighter, I think the premise of the author is that Roy Jones was even MORE skilled and to also illustrate that despite being the MORE skilled fighter that he'd be hopelessly out matched again Tyson as would some fighters if place into similar circumstances.

I do agree skill over size in some situations, but you can't put a smaller man against a late 80's Tyson. You just don't.

In an alley, I go with Tyson. In the ring, Tyson lets the fight go as long as Tyson wants it to.

Sorry , this fight wont be good for Jones unless he's fighting a rusty post 2000 version of Mike. Stylewise I just dont see how Jones would be able to handle Tyson.

A bad match up for Jones regardless which version of Mike he's facing.

An incomplete point as it is not just size and skill but stylistic match ups ..

Actually Tyson was the more skilled of the two.

Actually very true. Jones was incredibly quick but very poor classic boxer. Prime Tyson had great ability to slip and counter and attack at angles among other attributes.

...and How Jones is going to even hurt Mike? Mike withstood hundreds of punches from Douglas , Holyfield and Lewis before he went down. He was never got hit by a single shot and get KO'd in early or middle round. Hell, Tyson was still standing after those big shots by Holyfield even when he's basically defenseless.

Mike in his prime had a very good jab, great body punches and an uppercuts that would lifted a 6'3-6'5 guys from the floor. Jones is going to get himself killed. I'm a big fan of Jones, but it just not a good matchup for him.

Just clearing things up, Tyson could be and was hurt by single shots and early on. That's not to say Jones could do just that mind....

Sorry, but I dont see how Jones is capable of landing something that having an impact like what Douglas or Lennox did and remember Tyson took so many of them before going down. Jones has been proven that he didnt have good chin, he was untouchable because of his superior relflex and movement.

It has been proven that you need to wear down Mike with tons of clean punches for many rounds before he'll go down. Big guys like Smith, Ruddock, Bruno and Tucker landed some clean punches to his chin and Mike just shrugged it off.

Now if Mike landed any few clean punches to Jones face, that would be a different story. One clean punch to his chin would be an instant light off like when he got KO'd by Tarver and Johnson but worst.

Tyson would win. Jones ability s and skills would having him survive a few rounds but tyson been a bigger build and stronger would ko him in 3

Again, Tyson had better skills. Roy had amazing reflexes and speed but he wasn't some technical marvel.
