I never said I thought Roy would beat Tyson

I was just reacting to the way you were overreacting to the post you were responding to.

Haven't even read all the responses. Ruiz was pan fed against RJJ. Tyson kills him.

Is this a joke? Ruiz was nothing but a Heavyweight version of Donny Lalonde so Roy could win the title. Roy wouldn't dare get in the ring with Tyson

Mike Tyson would absolutely destroy Roy Jones Jr. Jones was too small and lacked the durability to be competitive in such a bout.

This is a mismatch; Tyson is too fast, too powerful, too skilled, too durable in his prime for Jones to even touch him. If Jones fought smart, he would get a few rounds but the outcome is always the same. Tyson KO early.

Death in the ring... Would seriously be worried for glass jawed Jones' health, if Glen Johnson could leave him out cold for minutes......

I don't think Mike was faster than the version of Roy who fought Ruiz. But it really doesn't make any difference.

Roy would have had ZERO chance to have beaten Mike at his best. I honestly wouldn't have given him a 1% chance.

I would however have given him A CHANCE of beating the versions of Mike right at the end of his career, who was just fighting purely for the cheques.

Any intelligent boxing fan knows that the right blend of skill and style can overcome even huge disparities in weight.

Tunney would have had a chance against some of today's guys.

There's a difference between a world class fighter and an elite fighter.

Ruiz obviously wasn't an elite fighter. But he was a world class HW. As horrible as he was to watch, he was a genuine top 10 HW of his time. If he was fighting today, he'd be top 10-15.

Of course he was naturally bigger than Roy.

Again: The perfect combination of skills and style can overcome even huge disparities in weight. Mike is the perfect example of that.

Why would Roy have even considered getting in the ring with a peak version of Mike?

RJJ would have wanted to risk his health just to prove a point to the guys on BF24 ;)
