    Accomplishments- Sugar Ray no doubt.Fought all,even with his retirements.

    Intangibles - Heart,mentality etc Sugar Ray by a mile.

    Talent - Speed,power etc Roy Jones.Possibly the most physically gift fighter ever.

    Verdict - Sugar Ray by a landslide.

    Roy Jones Jr was unbeatable looked unhuman at times while Sugar had stiffer competition but still i think Roy beats sugar. Hagler beats both tho:good

    We're talking at their best. Any talk of faded athleticism is inapplicable. btw Roy also avenged his first loss (which was a bull**** loss) in more than fine style (1st round destruction).

    I think Roy at his best is one of the very best fighters ever. I've seen more Roy fights than SRL fights for sure, but I'm just saying that of all the fights I've seen, I've never seen a fighter as good as Roy at his peak.

    Its a big weakness of this general forum that guys think that roy jones is comparable with ray leonard p4p......Ray is a proven atg against atg prime opposition,looks great on film and never got blasted out for ten by mediocrities like tarver and johnson......How many of you guys have actually seen prime rays' fights? (79-82.)
    ps; thomas hearns,roberto duran,wilfred benitez and marvin hagler are all p4p miles better than any of roys opponents and (with the possible exceptions of hagler and wilfred.) roy himself.....

    Leonard - Better chin, better defense, sounder fundamentals all around.

    Roy is the more natural athlete - As soon as he slowed a couple of steps - His style reflected his flaws.

    SRL,,,,easy choice imo. Not degrading Roy at all here, but overall Leonard was the much more talented BOXER, vs Roy was probably the most gifted ATHLETE boxing has ever seen.
