Great as Bud as I just think a fighter like RJJ would be too much even for him. Too big, too fast and too explosive. Picture the Gamboa fight where he was being beaten to the punch in the first 4 rounds except for 12 rounds and with no KDs to help him.

This is a terrible style matchup for Crawford, he’s outmatched in every department physically, speed, power, size, Crawford has higher IQ, but he needs Jones to be in range to use it, to bait him in, but Jones can just win a shut out from the outside.

Its a good fight but RJJ especially in his prime has just too much in his locker for Crawford.

I can see Crawford winning rounds though and lasting the distance at least.

No. Jones was hitting prime at 168. Crawford and Canelo are in the twilight of their careers when one beat the other.

Jones had one thing Crawford did not: power.

When Jones was starting out, my brother and I lived in the same room. I watched Clarissa Explains it All, he had to. he watched Saved by the Bell, I had to. I watched the NBA, he had to. He watched the NFL, I had to. You get the drift. I even had an airport model with airplanes of American, Delta, Pan Am and about 40 other airlines (Schabak brand, they were 10 dollars each and very small so i could fit them easily into a portion of our room, you should look them up they are very nice to look at!) My brother hated airplanes and had to stare at them all day long lol, ironically, he now works at Alaska Airlines and loves airplanes too!

My brother was majorly a baseball fan so I had to watch the games even if I thought baseball sucked lol. When Randy or Lance Johnson started out, or Derek Jeter, or Tom Glavine, he always said "we are gonna watch a stud!"..as a side joke, but this is real actually, as a bisexual transgender woman , I used to think "he definitely has a different definition of the word stud to the rest of the world!: lol...(well except in Glavine';s case, Glavine was very cute and could have been a teen idol in Hollywood)

My point is, my uncle sent me a video tape of the Jones-Vaca fight which he had ordered on PPV where he was living at but I didnt because , I mean I thought I knew who the winner of Iran Barkley vs Darrin Van Horn was going to be and i preferred to save my money for when a real huge fight came up. My brother was not there when I put the tape on the vcr and lo and behold I saw a revelation that day. I had never seen such a combination of blinding speed and building knocking down power.

So when Jones-Castro was on USA Tuesday Night Fights and my brother was forced to watch it, I told him, "we are gonna watch a stud tonight!" (the same happened when we saw Naseem Hamed fight for the first time but I had read about Hamed on the magazines,he definitely was a stud too!)

I always knew that he was going to be a step too far for Felix Trinidad and if there were two Puerto Ricans who felt that way, count me as one of them!

Jones had one thing Crawford does not: rocks on his hands. That would be Crawford's biggest problem. I love Crawford since I saw him beat accused wife beater Yuriorkis Gamboa, and he fights similarly to another guy I love in Floyd Mayweather, but he simply does not have the power that Roy Jones Jr had, and Jones also had the speed Crawford does and the defensive style to make Crawford miss a lot of punches,

That is why I have Jones jr on this one, possibly by an 8-12th round tko or by a wide unanimous decision.

Why even make this thread? To test the upper limit of who posters believe crawford can beat? Or, to put him in an unwinnable scenario?

AT 168 sure, Jones is unreal and Bud is undersized. But Bud's power 147 and below is dynamite though

A much faster and athletic RJJ with everything he brought overwhelms Crawford ofcourse, not close. Hell I'm not even sure if Crawford is the same size it helps him that much
