Roy Jones Jr vs the following middleweights

Clears with ease

 

A peak roided up Jones beats Robinson by competitive decison and would score a knockdown, this opinion will become popular in about 25 years

 

I have to go with Jones beating them all. They are a group of highly skilled, tough as nails boxers but I do not think they have the right kind of talent and athleticism to beat Roy. Jones is too quick and I believe he would be able to outbox them to decision and maybe even stop one or two of them.

 

As good as those guys are and as tough, I don't see them beating Jones at middle.

 

RJJ can beat anyone on this list, he even sang a song about it. (Can't Be Touched)

 

Roy wins them all without too much trouble.

I too think he would beat all 4, and with alacrity, Turpin would present the most problems I believe, he was immensely strong, and anyone who can best Robinson would stand a chance , as for them being highly skilled mmm...

I believe Baslio would be his toughest challenge of the four
because of his in close and physical style ,bordering on
illegal tactics, durability and endurance.
especially over 15 rds.
If Jones Jr. Fought during Baslio's era, it would be
very interesting to see how he would handle the
rough, and illegal tactics allowed during that time.

But Jones was such a amazing talent at middleweight.
I don't believe any of the fighters mentioned would
have much of a chance against him.

 

I hate these mythical match ups that never take into consideration the reality of those two different time frames and the divisions in which the fighters would actually be fighting in, in each other's Eras.

RJJ in their period, the 40s & 50s would have been a Light-Heavyweight cum HW, he is too big for all of them bar Turpin, who was always a Big Middle, fighting mostly at catchweights and of course leveling out at L-HW.

Jones beats them all, unless one of them lands a Tarver on him and Turpin, 'might' be the only one that does that, though doubtful.

Too Big, Strong, Quick and powerful for them in the general sense, not that they haven't faced some great fighters, they have, but being Bigger with all the goods is a hard ask for the 3 smaller ones.

Match RJJ with the Marshalls & Conns and Moore's & co, that's where he would have been fighting back then.

 

I think Fullmer could make it ugly and hard for Roy Jones like Carl Froch vs. Andre Dirrell. I don't favor any of them to win. I think Fullmer's "tactics" as well as his motor and tenacity would give him the best shot of the group. Also he could wing a crazy overhand at a moment's notice which strategically is the most interesting dimension of the group against RJJ in my limited expertise.

Fullmer vs. Jones interests me also because hitting awkwardness with awkwardness is often effective at defusing an explosive puncher--but can also create devastating knockouts on either side. Style clashes work that way. RJJ still wins in my opinon. It would be an entertaining, dirty brawl and probably end with a lot of bloodshed. Maybe like the Vinnie Paz fight but with actual competitive exchanges.
