Has been done numerous times here. My pick is always Hearns by decision. Roy would fight a cautious fight because of the Hitman's right hand

Roy would be able to dodge the right hands Hearns landed on Hagler in their 1st round of 'the war' he would have to fight far more cautous than Hagler did and would be out-jabbed, Hearns was sharp and fast v Hagler until hurting his right hand, Hagler was better than the versions of Toney and B-hop that Roy beat and so ws Hearns, however after the Hagler fight Tommy lost his way and I`d pick Roy against Tommy from that point on despite Tommy looking sharp v Shuler, mid 80`s Tommy was too much for a prime Roy at 160 after that probaly Roy takes it.

I've always thought that Tommy was overrated above 154, and would get clipped by the bigger, quicker and harder hitting Roy with a something he can't handle.

If Hearns could control distance with his jab I could see him taking a UD, put there's going to come a time when Roy hits Tommy with a hook he doesn't see and whether he survives that I don't know

I would favor Jones but Tommy could win

I go back and forth here but slightly lean toward Hearns. Tommy has the tools to deter Jones from doing much and eking out a decision. Jones can get overcautious against punchers, and Tommy's reach and jab will prevail over Jones' speed edge in a distance joust. This is the most likely scenario. But Jones can also end Hearns with a punch, as "Tommy's got that weak chin" - to quote Hagler.

Well he said that in regards to the second Leonard fight. Hagler wouldn't say Hearns had a weak chin when he fought him because that is his claim to fame fight, so he wants to make Hearns as good as he could be when he fought him. He made that comment when he commentating for Leonard/Hearns 2 and he said something like Hearns got that weak chin now meaning Leonard was looking for that. He said now, meaning it became weak.

Even if that was Hagler's motivation, I think the jury's already out on Tommy's weak chin! ;)

Which is what? Hearns was hit by Ray who took rounds to knock him out, and yet he knocked out Davey Boy Green easily. Ray knocked out Lalonde and couldnt stop Tommy in the rematch. Hagler hit Tommy with big punches and Tommy stayed up in round one when most guys had trouble taking Marvin's clean punches. I don't think his chin is as bad as people think. It was not dependable, but to say it was weak? Tommy's problem was he came to fight and he would leave his chin out there, but the fact he was not stopped more often says his chin was not that bad. He wouldn't have had the great fights he had. You have to be able to take punches to have great fights.

I don’t know why you always say this.

    He wouldn’t have.

He was extremely smart and had a lot of respect for Tommy.

He’d either have swerved the fight, or he’d have taken it and fought him extremely aggressively.

He would never have boxed with him.

    Yeah.

He said it before their fight though.

I think Roy would win by UD. However Hearns’ length and his jab-straight would cause trouble for Jones in the first few rounds. I think Roy adjusts and his speed overwhelms Hearns from the middle to the end of the fight. 116-112 Jones jr.

He said Hearns had a weak chin before his fight with him?
