Bump because it’s a very intriguing matchup, I actually believe Jones could hurt Morrison if he landed clean on him, would lean towards Jones, but it could end at any moment.

Roy wouldn't even consider the fight.

I almost always favor the better boxer in these head-to-head bouts, but I have to agree with most that the intangibles/styles matchup suggests Morrison would win this fight by knockout.

IMHO Morrison would still "catch" Roy Jones at some point, unlike John Ruiz.
And as much as you think both boxers are chinny; how long do you think Roy Jones would last in the ring with Lennox Lewis.

There's no way in hell Roy could have taken Tommy's power. Tommy had a lot of flaws as a person and a fighter, but he also had some strengths that people underrate. Even if he struggled to nail Jones to the head, he would land to the body which could possibly finish him with that alone. Even if it didn't, it would slow him down enough to open him up for the left hook or right uppercut to the head. Morrison had a poor fight IQ, but was almost always able to get his offense going. It was his defense, his chin, and his recklessness that let him down. He wouldn't have to worry about that in this fight.

And that's a win over Foreman, for which Morrison still had to have a decent ring IQ

Agreed. That was Morrison's best fight, and he showed an uncharacteristic amount of discipline and intelligence in that one. He wasn't this clumsy buffoon that some people make him out to be. He has some good offensive skill, and a natural left hook that few heavyweights could match or surpass. He was skilled enough to way to figure out to land on Jones eventually, even if it took a few rounds of embarrassment for him to figure out how to do it.
