Toney probably didn't land anything significant on Jones that night (only one punch in round 5 or 6 landed flush in my memory). Jones' reflexes were really next level to anyone on tape.

In his prime Roy seemed unbeatable. I am talking about the older version in the heavyweight division

Ok Toney destroys Jones in 04 or 05 which isn't saying much.

The heavyweight version of Jones was actually early 2003 so he's good to go in this one. It was his last "Jones like" performance. Jones was rubbish in 04 and 05 as you say but not the night he fought Ruiz. Many mark the weight drop back down to from this fight as his fall and they very likely have a point. He was ordinary then quickly woeful. He wasn't ordinary vs Ruiz tho, there was little wrong with that performance given the intangibles.

No. I am saying Toney would KO the Jones (Ruiz version). As a heavyweight, Jones was more stationary and threw single punches. Ultimately, the issue I see is the Jones chin.

He was already on his way down when he fought Ruiz. In his next fight, he barely escaped with a decision win over Tarver. And then in his next 2 fights he got KOD. His reflexes were deteriorating.

He lost about 1 round in his previous four fights put together pre Ruiz.

As just about everyone in this has opined, the Ruiz version would be good enough to beat Toney.

Just about everyone? There are quite a few here who picked Toney.

I've got it at 18-4 for Jones and i reckon one other guy and maybe two lean his way, that's close enough to just about everybody for me. He's got more than 4 times the votes that Toney has.

...and one of those pro-Toney votes will always be from THE BLADE2!

Dude bragged about Toney beating shot to pieces Holyfield. Holyfield lost to Larry Donald his next fight lol. Why he stans for Toney so much is quite odd.
