Benmakhlouf is roughing Jones a bit, throwing lots of slapping hooks up close and letting his inner forearms and elbows connect freely, barely even trying to score with his actual fists. There is some warning from the ref for the leaning and filth. Jones takes it all in stride, laughing as he lets Benmakhlouf plow him into the ropes and landing quick right/left uppercut combos on the bottom of the chin along with quick up-jabs on the cut & swollen right eye of Benmakhlouf.

Round 9

Benmakhlouf turtles up and walks straight into Jones, flattening him into the ropes. Jones waits for a bit of leverage and then chest-bumps free to rattle off quick flashy combos up and down. Benmakhlouf is throwing nothing on the inside as Jones drum-rolls on his body and climbs up to his face with hookercuts. Benmakhlouf is trading jabs with Jones when they reset on the outside and getting the worst of it despite his reach advantage, Jones leaning forward and sticking his sharper jab in without being touched. Benmakhlouf steps in and slaps with a left hook and catches Jones on the cheek, backing him up involuntarily. Benmakhlouf presses Jones into the ropes, where Jones rattles off more fast body combos.

Round 10

Benmakhlouf is pushing into Jones, slapping wide around his guard with hooks but getting hung up on Jones' elbows pointed outward to his sides, arms bowed in a net. Jones waits for Benmakhlouf to stop throwing and begin smothering, then wriggles his back against the ropes for room to work and throws fast hook and uppercut combos downstairs. Benmakhlouf lands some clubbing shots on the back and top of the head but Jones is tucking up tight and keeps plugging away on the body. Benmakhlouf complains of a headbutt, but the ref ignores him and Jones chuckles while returning to his corner after the bell.

Round 11

Benmakhlouf is taking rocking-chair steps in, turned so that his lead left leg is pointed toward Jones but his body from the waist up is facing to his right, guard up tight on his face. Jones is threatening with leaping left hooks from the crouch, not fully committing nor just feinting with them, pulling them in midair and touching down halfway to Benmakhlouf. Caution from both men for the better part of two minutes. Benmakhlouf starts to slap wide around the back of Jones' head with hooks, bending deeply forward. Jones answers in kind, landing some retaliatory intentional rabbit punches with fast hooks on the mouth and eye sockets mixed in. Benmakhlouf doesn't like the roughness and complains to the ref, who is unsympathetic.

Benmakhlouf is diving in with his face behind his forearms and whipping in right and left hooks on the inside. Jones is caught by a few around the ear but takes a few rabbit punches as well. Benmakhlouf is warned. Jones is flicking jabs and chopping with his right hand from outside as Benmakhlouf moves forward throwing more wide hooks with both hands. Jones lays on the ropes, tired, but still placing his shots more accurately than Benmakhlouf whose terribly aimed uppercut downstairs makes a reappearance. Jones slips punches on the ropes and counters lightly with taps as he turns either way.
