Agree with you Road Warriour, very ridiculous. It was sickening to talk about Pwill's health when his is worse.
I truly didn't think so at first. But, I have seen it very clearly on occasion now. With that said, he's doing a fantastic job on the over all though.
I actually thought Jones' commentary was very good. He seems to have grown over his slump in 2004/2005, when he was still struggling to accept the fact that he got KO'd. Currently, he seems to have accepted his shotness and provides good commentary. And yes, he does contradict himself, but I'd prefer him to be a smart commentator and a dumb boxer than a dumb commentator and a dumb boxer.
HBO is getting owned by Showtime rescently...Yesterday was another proof...The Showtime card was much better...
I noticed it in Johnson vs green. Almost the whole fight he seemed to be going for green. Dude is stil the best commentator around
Paul Malignaggi should be a commentator, he really knows his stuff and speaks coherently. He's also likable which is important
Tarver is more polished and in tune with the politics of boxing when he comments and aint nothing wrong with that. Roy Jones is more blue collar and emotional. He calls it the way he sees it and talks in the language of the average person, and aint nothing wrong with that.
Tarver is well spoken and articulate. He is one of my favorite commentators. You say he can be biased sometimes? Arent all sport commentators? They say what they are getting paid to say what they think you want to hear. Roy Jones is just delusional. Getting knocked out cold like he did does that too you. Roy Jones is on HBO so people will have something to laugh at.
