Roy Jones Jr - what I've been saying all along

I think now Dawson kills Jones but I could be wrong . Im just basing this on the Calzaghe fight ..Imagine if Johnson beats Dawson and then Jones and Glen rematch and Jones wins ?? That would be incredible !! Also highly unlikely !

 

I`m not yet so confident on Dawson beating Jones! Jones can still school, and Dawsons only good win is Adamek! But ffs.. Imagine if Jones beat the **** out of him, afterwards this forum would contain 80% aliases

In a perfect Jones world Johnson beats Dawson then Jones beats Glen ..I wish that could happen but I doubt it ..Unless he obliterates Green im not so sure they get made but strager things have happen ..

How the **** you from beating Lacy to beating a prime elite fighter in Dawson?

Calzaghe is great and Dawson is not ? Dawson is already proven not less than Calzaghe , he would love to face Roy who will bring the public interest (money) to the fight. it's just Roy being smart not to face him. Look at Dawson's fights with Tarver , Johnson. Look at Roy's fight with them.

 

Lets just take the Jones win for what it was, a good performance for a old man who is no longer the fighter he once was (all be it against an opponent who was picked to make Jones look good).

As a elite level fighter Jones is finished, and has been for some time now.

 

What a ridiculous post to make. I feel embarrassed for you. You say that Jeff Lacy gave Taylor a tough fight ? He basically lost every ****ing round you clown. Now your saying that Roy is not shot and he could beat Dawson who many consider to be "the man" at 175 (some may say BHop still is). So Dawson is young/prime/has easily beaten Adamek,Tarver twice, Close win over Johnson in a tough fight but now Roy beats him you say ? Wake up to yourself.

Jones is FINISHED with the sport, has been on the decline since 2003, this is 6 years later and he's not getting better. I remember the same exact threads about how he would beat Hopkins and others after the Trinidad fight.

 

dawson is the one guy, who i would choose to dismantle roy, at this point in time.

lacy couldnt do ****, thats why roy looked good, he was relaxed and lcomfortable, but when he feels the pressure, he is a mental midget.

let him do his poor version of the rope-a-dope, and dawson would pick his shots and knock him out. AND WITH EASE.

 

These Calslappy huggers are sad, 1st of all Roy is still shot he is 40 yrs old and he has been gunshy ever since Tarver caught him, further more Lacy is a D class fighter now, he barely beat Griffin, was dominated by Taylor and was nearly KTFO by Mendoza, the same guy that couldn't last even 4 rds with Dawson. Roy was one the best to ever lace em up in his day, but his day ended 5 yrs ago. Dawson would stop this version of RJJ.

I dont rate Dawson as highly as most on here do but he is still a level above the guys Roy can look good against now.

Dawson is not going to allow Roy to clown around like he did with Lacey, Dawson will cause Roy some big trouble at this stage of his career. Ten years ago Roy would have blasted Dawson and Calzghe one after the other, but that Roy is gone. Even though Roy has very fast hands the lower part of his armament is lagging behind, meaning his legs. Roy's legs are not as fast as they once was, and Lacy didn't have enough in the tank to expose roys weakened legs, instead he made it easy for roy buy just walking straight ahead eating shots. Against a mover like Dawson, Roy's weakened legs will become painfully apparent as he drops a decisions.

 

The only elite fighter Roy belongs in the ring with at this point is Hopkins, and that only because there is some legitimate history and unfinished business between them. And because Hopkins is ancient.

He doesn't beat Dawson, he doesn't beat Johnson, and he still probably doesn't beat Tarver.
