The bout featuring the one-time world heavyweight titlist and the undisputed champion of backyard brawling, will take place in December to mark Jamiaca’s 50th anniversary celebrations and Jones admits that Slice, real name Kevin Ferguson, poses a huge threat.

"He's a big streetfighter with a lot of power, so early in the fight he can be very dangerous,” Jones stated at the event press conference on Thursday.

“But as the fight goes on, my mental experience should take over. For the first five rounds he will be very deadly.”

Although the final details of the contest have yet to be ironed out, the fight has been agreed and there is expected to me more exciting fights added to card to mark the island’s celebrations.

Ferguson, 38, has baby-stepped his way through the initial part of a timid boxing career by amassing a 5-0 record against journeyman and MMA fighters, but is known for packing one of the most feared punches in the fighting business.

43 year-old Jones on the other hand, has vast experience in the ring and will no doubt aim to use his speed and wits to avoid the Bahamian’s one-punch knockout power in a clash that is sure to wow the Jamaican fans as long as it lasts.

Roy should just stick and move and tire the big sted-head out. After 2-3 rounds RJJ should go in for a kill.

Kimbo vs. Jones? That sounds like a successful 50k PPV to me.

I know that 99% of fighters go on too long and experience some sort of fall from grace but Roy's has been particularly ignominious.

    This is just sad.

It would be funny as **** if Jones brutally KO'd Kimbo

This is the reason I suggested Jones to fight Chad Dawson, its at 175 for a belt and enough money to let him retire

I actually believe he can beat Kimbo if its over a 4 rounder, Kimbo is **** and even a shot Jones jr can beat him so long as he doesnt get tagged and keeps moving.

But even if he beats Kimbo where does that leave him? a bunch of up and comers trying to make a name of off him

Roy Jones relied so much on athleticism in his prime, and not so much on technical boxing skill, This is why he has fallen so hard in his post prime years. Kimbo is probably gonna win, and probably by brutal KO.

If this is true,Id like to think that ANY version of RJJ can beat this guy.

Even if he is nearing 44, and is a solid 10 years past anything like a prime.

So im guessing this "fight" will be at heavyweight?
