I didn't say Lewis was superior because he wasn't knocked out by Tua.

I never said Ruiz didn't deserve the belt.

You applying logic is you saying something.

Again none of this has anything to do with my post.

Ruiz's manager was a pompous shill

In 2000, Ruiz was an unproven, overrated, boring guy who nobody knew and seemed overrated.

from Wikipedia (I know it's unsourced but Ruiz's loudmouth manager is hardly an objective source) - "After Lewis defeated Holyfield the WBA ordered Lewis to defend the title against John Ruiz of Puerto Rico, who was then an obscure Don King fighter who had been made the WBA's number one-ranked contender. The WBA gave permission for Lewis to fight his WBC mandatory Michael Grant first if he would fight Ruiz next, to which Lewis agreed. Opposed to this, King challenged this decision in court on the basis of a clause in the Lewis-Holyfield rematch contract that said Lewis's first bout as undisputed champion would be against the WBA's number one contender. Lewis was therefore to be stripped of his WBA belt if he fought Grant first. It was because of this that the WBA instagated its "Super Champion" title, giving unified titleholders who also hold a WBA belt more time to defend against mandatory challengers."[citation needed]

Grant was hot at the time, coming off a 10th round KO of Andrew Golota.

Ruiz's only win of note at the time was a stoppage of shot Tony Tucker two years earlier.

It's highly doubtful Lewis ducked Ruiz, especially pre "title" Ruiz. LOL

You'll say basically anything to fit your agenda.

    Nobody avoided John Ruiz.

Tell me, how is it Ruiz's fault that Lewis dropped the title because Lewis didn't want to fight Ruiz as his mandatory?

    BTW
Transmission of opinions don't need to be directly declared. They are often insinuated and are therefore justifiably inferred.

I never said it was Ruiz's fault.

Again, your reply has nothing to do with my post.

Fact: Lewis refused to fight his mandatory against Ruiz and drops his belt.

Your statement as quoted: "Ruiz did not deserve the WBA title of world champ because he didn't fight Lewis. "

I think Lewis ducked King more than Ruiz.

Boxing is a money game as well as a sport. When you only fight two times a year, and your career has a limited lifespan, of course you will take the bouts that earn you the most money, most the time.

The idea that Lennox Lewis might have somehow been quaking at the prospect of facing a tomato can like John Ruiz is simply laughable.

Ruiz got the high ranking because Don King backed a lawsuit to get him that high. Up to that point his resume was useless. LL would have have ****ing DECAPITATED him.

The lengths many people still go to not give Lewis credit is staggering.

What more could he have done in his career?

    Fight John Ruiz? Sheesh! :D

I'd favor a few guys over Lewis prime for prime but John Ruiz is certainly not one of them. I don't think this guy is trying to necessarily denigrate Lewis, he is more so just over inflating Ruiz's ability and accomplishments. This Ruiz fan reminds me of that dude who worshiped Terry Norris.

I always felt Norris was overrated. Lotsa skill, but filthy and had a weak chin.

Neither Ruiz nor Jones were the worlds hwt champion. Both were contenders and nothing more.
