    Wlad would beat Ali.

    So would Peter.

Hell, audley would probably beat him too.

Just look at what Holmes and Berbick did to him.

A little bit of nostalgia creeping in there, McGrain.

By no definition of 'lots' could the above said to be true.

    Foster ?

    Maybe

    Moore ?

    maybe ?

    Spinks

    maybe

And I would pick Roy on his best night, no ****ing around, to beat all three with Spinks giving him the toughest run.

(Guys who bring up Hearns, Leonard and even SRR are borderline delusional.)

I wouldn't call it "delusional" to think that SRR on his best night at 160 could beat the relatively green version of RJJ who fought at 160. Personally I think Robinson would beat him, but I accept that Jones would have a great chance. That's pretty much a 50-50 for me. I can see Monzon and Hagler beating the mw Jones too. I don't think anyone who fought in the actual smw division would touch RJJ, but I think Charles gives him a fight at around that weight. Doubt anyone else could though. At 175, I would back Michael Spinks and Bob Foster to beat Roy (not sure about Moore). I always felt Roy was a bit small at 175 and more suited to 168. Then again, I would never be overly confident backing anyone against RJJ, he could turn up in Superman mode and shock you with his brilliance.

Hearns. Hearns was fast and had a jab and Roy could not take the heat. Beating up guys who he was faster then or who he outclassed was not the same as a guy with a 78 inch reach who was quick and strong. Hearns knocks out Roy in 6 after swelling him with the jab.

Yes Jones handpicked all his opponents. So does every single fighter when they reach the top of the game handpick their fights in this modern era.

The things that people blame and bring against Jones are the stupidest arguments ever. Either the promoter is picking their opponents and promoters mess up potential fights and can be corrupted, or the fighter is picking which only happens at the top ala Manny Pac handpicking guys left and right -- but this is not a bad thing.

Handpicking on this forum means -- fighting the recognized champions. So what he fought Ruiz, who gives a ****. And Ruiz isn't a horrible fighter, he is a dirty mofo. He has fought good comp and beat some decent heavies. How is Vitali's record any better than Ruiz's?

Cal RJJ a glass jawed joke all day, but the handpicking **** is stupid. Most top p4p fighters handpick guys -- that or they fight mandatory guys or they get stripped, or their promoters handpicks. People on this forum act like its the olden days where there was one belt so certain fights had to happen or no money really.

If RJJ has as much of a glass jaw as some of the space cadets on here says he does, then fighting Ruiz was a big as risk. So much of what they say about that fight is highly ironic. If he has so much of a glass jaw Ruiz had an high chance of KOing him.

For clarification, Dinamita, I was responding to McGrain's post about 'lots at 175'.

SRR did compete at least once at that weight and performed well (he lost), but at 175, I wouldn't bet anything on him against the 175 Jones.

I agree that the lighter (and greener) we go, the more SRR's chances improve.

Anything can happen on a given night, but I don't see Hagler or Monzon beaing even the MW version of Jones.

And if we go to SMW, I'll bet the farm Jones beats either one.

A few others not mentioned would be Maske when he was on his run at 175. That guy could certainly box and everyone saw what troubles Jones had with a boxer like Tarver. And Tarver is nothing special. Victor Galindez would be a real tough bout. A prime Qawi is a handful, as would be Mike Spinks. I think Jimmy Ellis at 175 is a real good fight as well. Ahumada and even Conteh in his prime are tough fights. And this is a list of guys just going back 35/40 years.
I sure don't see any of those guys losing to the opposition Jones fought at 175. Come to think of it, having the tables turned and having a 40 year old Jones facing a youthful version of McCallum in his prime is a real tough bout as well.

there's little doubt in my mind that both foster and spinks spark him out. RJJ always left me rather unsatisfied at 175.
