Jones had great power. His KO ratio at his natural weight class (160-168) was extremely high.

Jones also had great defensive skills due to his reflexes, which I dare say were better than Tyson's.

rjj was one of the greatest athletes in boxing. but i'd say tyson was a different breed of physical freak. some of the best quickness, handspeed, iron chin and power for a heavyweight all in one package. truly a big tragedy that he fell short of his full potential.

jones had great reflexes is a more appropriate statement, his fundamentals have always been rubbish which is why he is where he is now.

It will be a long time before we see another fighter like Tyson again, the heavywieght division longing for another Tyson.

I know what your saying but for me Roy Jones Jr is to boxing what Michael Jordan was to basketball.

rjj quickness was his best defense. if he only worked on good defense to complement that quickness, then he probably would'nt be getting KTFO.

The question was about talent, not skill. His fundementals are fine. He just refuses to adjust to his diminishing athletic ability. Accuracy and learning how to roll with a punch, knowing where to move or how to evade are fundementals. His athletic ability only enhanced these skills to an immense degree.

Don't worry. Ruslan Chagaev is the "White Tyson." Once he gets over his hepatitis, we should be ok.

White Tyson...just when you think the nicknames couldn't get any worse. :bbb

it would also be to his benefit if he learned the very basic skill of keeping his hands up

Hes no iron mike but I actually like Chagaev he has good boxing skills, I liked his in out approach against Valuev. Chagaev hit Valuev with some good hooks in that fight, too bad it hardly moved the giant Valuev.

His hands were up both times he was KO'd. The punch from Tarver went around his guard.
